I am usually the type of person that likes to arrive at an appointment a little early, especially if it is a place that is new to me. I want to be able to look over their menu and get a feel for the ambience. And since I am on a "diet", I am watching calories (and so on). So frequently I'll go the coffee shop's website and check things out ahead of time.

I would be hesitant to order someone a drink before they got there, because it could get cold (depending oh how late the person may be). Maybe I would ask for some water (if I'm thirsty), and just sit back, relax and wait.
