EBay Wins a Business Award

April 10, 2008 RSS Feed Print

The Better Business Bureau this week honored CarMax, Ritter Daniher, Kraft Foods, and eBay with its annual Torch Awards for their "integrity in the marketplace" and "advancing trust between businesses and consumers."

Wondering why eBay was included, considering the recent uproar over its new pricing policies? Well, the award was made before the sellers' boycott was announced, but there was no word on whether that would have changed the judging.

But the company did win in part because of its feedback policy, which has allowed buyers and sellers to rate each other—and under a new policy to take effect in May, buyers will receive only positive feedback.

Dear Kimberly,

Would you be so gracious as to list some kind of contact information of those whom were responsible for the very consideration and nomination of the Business Award that Ebay was granted? Many many groups and individuals have tried in vain to find out from the various Better Business Bureau 's in each state up to indivudual searches.

There seems to be a majority of people whom disagree with Ebay even being considered for this award -and would like to respectfully correspond to those who choose Ebay as one of the winners (even though it was prior to the Boycott). We would rationally like to appeal to the proper parties with proper documentation -with hopes that they Award comitteee withdraw their award to Ebay for proper , unethical and substancially significant issues and points to show they Ebay is anything but an embarrassment to such a prestigious award of that caliaber.

Would you kindly let us know whom we may contact to appeal to have such an honoring award withdrawn from Ebay for countless reasons which need to be brought to the attention of the award committee- or either have the Better Business Bureau take back their "BUSINESS AWARD" from ebay inc. as soon as possible.

I speak not only on behalf on many many people from the East Coast to the West Coast of the USA- but there are numerous parties in other countries -such as Australia who feel the same way.

Ebay is in no way deserving ,entitled or in any way a comparison to the other winners who so gratefully earned their awards .

Respectfully.

Kathleen

been a member for 4 yrs sold and bought over 3000 items, and this is the worst year I have ever seen, so for them to get an award is nuts for anything, every other poster prior i agree with, and i just reported a listing 2 days ago, its still on!!! and we are all paying for the errors EBAY allows to happen, as you've read previously we are ALL asked to report bad sellers, ect... we do and NOTHING HAPPENS, Just that time in my life I could have enjoyed with my family, We the sellers who treat the community with integrity should get the award, heres the listings I reported, 300217122921, and some of their others, 199.00 handling fee for a 10.00 shipping price??? that weighs 3 oz? .....yet they still sell on ebay, NO INTEGRITY, also 20,000 new wedding dresses from china and only 9,000 form U.S.? on ebay U.S. i can go on and on, but i will be calling the bbb and letting them know they dont deserve it, and I really hope others do as well. peace.....
