Finding Tax Rebate Deals

I've recently taken actions on getting child support for my 14 and 1/2 year old. I've never once taken out child support before. Well, I've been holding things down for the last 14 years . The father is very upset with me. He is getting his family to call my phone and recently asked for a DNA test for the teen. He thought he was hurting me by asking for the test. It did not harm me. It only hurted his daughter who truly loves him to pieces. Although, he never once supported her, she's never heared not one negative word about him. Over the years I made up excuses for him that worked but now that she is growing up those excuses are getting old also! Like I said this is PASSED DUE. I've done the hard part. he only have 3 more years to support her. She is going to college but I don't know my rights about that yet! I give thumbs up to parents who are raising their children on their own! (Males and females)

PASSED DUE of GA 11:52AM June 28, 2008

First thank you to the other two people who said, if you paid your support when it was due, you wouldn't be in arrears and would therefore get your check!!

My ex is a total deadbeat wh is over 40k in arrears, I am not even counting on getting his check because he probably didn't file his taxes last year. Although supposedly now he's in unemployment, so he made at leas $3000 last year. He and his wife have formed a company, taken out equity loans, and purchased several properties since he was terminated in Dec 2005 , yet he has never and refuses to pay a full month of court ordered support. Recently his dirver's license and contractor's licenses were suspsended by DCSS and he was angry at me! Evidently he has the same mentality as you. He pled "No Contest" for failure to pay support when DCSS took him to court for contempt in March...of course he is still angry at me and the system Not his fault right??? I work in the title indusrtry and have been laid off for 10 months out of the last 21, yet I have managed to continue to raise my two sons without him. Those sporadic checks he sends, is not even something I can count on. Once he sent one for $2.02! So now maybe you know how it feels to wait or hope for some financial help....THAT WILL NEVER EVER COME!!!

For those of you who are in arrears : PAY YOUR SUPPORT!!

Anger, revenge or vindictiveness at the mother by not paying support, has nothing to do with her caring for your children, and it is very expensive to raise children.

BTW, it is a law that your are to support your children...you helped make them!

It shouldn't even come to laws, just your heart and love for your children should make you care enoughtto help support them . What are you deadbeat parents thinking? As it is said, "You reap what you sow"....not getting this check will be the least of what bad Karma comes back to you!

Thank you to 'Rach of PA' and Props!

My ex-husband owes me over $40,000 in back child support. Hmmmm.

My current husband has a teenage son from a previous marriage and owes NOTHING! Has NEVER been late or missed a payment, has always paid $100 more than required each month, EVERY month for more than a decade. Even if it meant he went without his own needs for the month. Even during long periods of time when his monthly income was only about $500 a month. So I know it can be done.

My question is... 'littleone', why are you even complaining???

Think about this for a minute, why are you behind on your payments anyway? Did you or did you not participate in the creation of a child that needs to be cared for... which, by the way, takes ALOT of money.

Thanks to the government, irresponsible people, including those who don't own up and be supportive to their children consistantly, get a 'free' reduction of their balances owed with this stimulus payment. And the children... well, maybe they finally are able to get that new bike just in time for summer, or much needed clothing and food they normally don't see because of lack of funding from the neglectful parent.

Your whining to the wrong crowd... Own up to it , take care of your kids, stay out of trouble with the state and PAY YOUR BILLS ONTIME. Then maybe next year... if they do a repeat of this... you might get some play money too!

1.) How is this stimulus suppose to help the economy when I have been told that if you own child support, money to state, or things such as fines they are taking the stimulus.

***Taking the stimulus? Try repaying their debts. They are taking the child support payment ONLY if that person is in arrears. Meaning, if they owe child support from the past. Personally, I have one question for those who are complaining about this...

"How does it feel to wait around for money that is promised to you?" I guess you can finally feel what your child felt when they waited for your support.

2.)Child support and the State really don't care how they get there money as long as they can take it. There is also those people who recieve child support that is going to get this extra refund so if any body Bush helped them out and didn't even think about people in the position of paying chid support.

***Extra refund? Try money owed and finally forced to pay is more like it. If they would have paid on time, they would get the stimulus check. As far as thinking about those who pay child support, if you are behind on car payments, would the bank send you money?

3.) So I really don't see the purpose of these checks any way other than to reimburst the state in these cases. People got there hopes just to be disappointed in the end.

***Reimburse the state? More like reimburse the children. Maybe they shouldn't

"get their hopes up" when they know they've let their children down. By the way, ask someone who pays or receives child support about the costs of taking care of a child on a monthly basis, mortgage, utilities, school needs, etc. and tell me if the child support payment or the stimulus would cover it?

How is this stimulus suppose to help the economy when I have been told that if you own child support, money to state, or things such as fines they are taking the stimulus. So Bush gave this why if this is the case. This is only helping people like the state and not the people like it was stated is suppose to give us a boost. Child support and the State really don't care how they get there money as long as they can take it. There is also those people who recieve child support that is going to get this extra refund so if any body Bush helped them out and didn't even think about people in the position of paying chid support. then you have those people who file injured spouse whose check will even take longer if they are lucky to these checks shortly. So I really don't see the purpose of these checks any way other than to reimburst the state in these cases. People got there hopes just to be disappointed in the end.

If you have a Kroger (or one of the stores in the same chain, like King Scoopers), this deal is great and easy to do. They accepted my credit card to buy the gift card (they also accept debit cards). With using my credit card, I also get "cashback" (in my case $12 extra).

My store issued each $300 on a separate card ($330 with bonus per card). I thought that was great, since I won't be carrying a card with a huge balance in my wallet.

Since I already shop there each week, usually spending $75 or so, this should cover groceries for the summer. Great deal for me!

We don't have Krogers in So Cal. However, Ralph's is offering it as well. The good thing about Ralph's is that they don't require the stimulus check, which is great for us who got DD. It is the same as the Kroger deal, but for everyone who buys the gift cards. Albertson's is also doing this. You can get gift cards in increments of $300 & they add 10%....then, the remainder will be given to you in cash. If you got DD call up your local store because some are offering their deals with proof that it was deposited & the amount (bank statement, etc.) and a government issued ID.

The online payment provider eBillme, as part of their shopping confessions contest, is giving away $1,000 and $500 to the best video and written confessions revealing how you plan to use, or maybe not use, your tax refund. The contest website, www.shopandconfess.com, has all the details!

That is true Veronica! That will be a problem for some people since many stores will only accept the paper form.
