So what if you have 500k where the h.... can you invest it or what????????????? I bonds are about the only thing reasonably safe annuities eat up your income if cost of living goes up?

I don't know why you wasted an article to talk about single women's retirement, when, as you wrote, "Not saving enough for retirement is certainly not just a single women's issue." There certainly is a women's retirement issue because women live longer than men, and, consequently, get smaller pensions. So women have to save more than men.

Since many studies show that women are less aggressive, more conservative when it comes to investing, they are more likely to outlive their money. They should really look into the so-called "Lazy Portfolios" that invest in index funds or ETFs (exchange-traded funds)

Thanks to your conservative Supreme Court, in part, with their Lilly Ledbetter decision, you can be assured single women will not catch up until it is overturned and a proper Court is appointed. McCain anyone? Women in poverty anyone?
