Holiday Shopping 2008: What's In and Out

Looking for a way to distract yourself from all the election coverage? Instead of counting votes, why not think ahead to the holidays. Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, and with a mood of frugality taking over the gift-giving process, we can't rely on old favorites like cashmere sweaters and the latest camera-phone to fill out our Christmas lists.

As I've mentioned before, my picks for "out" gifts include diamond necklaces, big-screen televisions, and anything the purchaser has to buy on credit. "In" gifts include cookbooks and time, such as the promise of a trip to a favorite museum.

So, vote a day early: What are your picks for best "in" gifts and "out" gifts? The most creative commenter will receive a copy of I.O.U.S.A.: One Nation. Under Stress. In Debt.

this year it is very uique gift shopping for me. I have a friend show me this gift book. There are over 40 choices in each price range. Hand these to each of my people and they will choose what ever they want and go online and redeem it. Hip isn't it. I loved it,as it saves me lot of time, money and energy. And I'm a hero and they like what they chose, not me guessing.

Hi All!

In reading over your comments, I thought I should offer our customized gift baskets to you this holiday season! Not the traditional cheese and fruit, or fruit cake (to make matters worse), but rather one put together based on the person receiving it! Who are they? What do they like? Favortie treats? Colors? Teams? Then let me know and we can put something that shows your thoughtfulness together for you!

Check us out at www.eliteoccasions.com.

We can work with any budget too! And if part of the stress this holiday season, is having to be so thoughtful, then we also have a great line of holiday gifts already assembled for you to chose from too.

Either way, think outside the basket!

Hope to hear from you! Mention this blog for a holiday discount!
