No fee credit cards should be used like a checkbook. Only buy what is covered in your bank account.

That way you get up to 45 days before the money actually leaves your bank account.

You not only get a little interest from your bank if you have an interest bearing checking account, but you also get a small rebate from the credit card company (bank).

Credit cards used correctly are cheaper than cash and safer too.
