The only time I got diamonds was when my ex had cheated. Slowly, I grew a serious distaste for diamonds and him.

Totally agree with you, Kimberly - those diamond ads drive me nuts. Some of the worst ones always used to spring up in the El station in O'Hare airport (of all places). They'd pretty explicitly suggest that if a man buys his wife a big enough diamond, he can get away with being a crappy husband in all other respects. How dumb do they think we are?
