Check out www.timesavingtools.com they have lots of kitchen tools and gadgets. Its one of my favorite places to shop if you love to cook. That have a lot of things for the kitchen to make it easy to chop, cut and store. I've placed several orders with them and so far no complaints.

With a pressure cooker you can save energy while making quick work of cooking beans or stewing a chicken, and you can also use it to process home-canned fruits, vegetables and other products.

On the other hand, the food-processor is a great time and labor saver for, yes, shredding cheese, chopping vegetables, even making bread dough. I also save money by making my own "bagged salad" with the help of a salad spinner. Can I nominate three?

As warm weather approaches, planting begins! I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to use a lot of fresh herbs in my cooking and it is SO expensive to buy them! It's theft what they charge in a grocery store.

Go to your local plant store and pick up a few essentials (basil, thyme, rosemary, chives, etc.) and get in and out for less that $20. You'll have fresh herbs all season and can dry them when the season ends.

I buy a huge block of Cheese sharp Cheddar from Sam's.

I grate it all in my food processor by bag as I need it.

It cose about 10.00 for 5lbs of cheese which ends up being about 2.00 a lb.

I agree about the slow cooker: I use mine frequently. But for a new nomination ... I'm surprised that no one has mentioned a coffee maker. Making coffee at home saves a bundle over buying coffee at a coffee shop, donut shop, or fast food joint.

I have noticed recently that our local grocery stores are no longer selling cheese blocks. Everything is grated and pre-packaged.

I know that organic herbs and greens are so expensive at the grocery store and farmer's market. Invest in some micro green seeds. Recycle a clear plastic container and plant your own veggies in a sunny kitchen window. Kitchen gardens are also becoming more popular with the slumping economy. Plant some tomatoes or other veggies in containers on your patio or front porch.
