Discover Card is globally accepted, I am unsure of what you mean by it is the least useful card over seas. Did you know Discover Card owns Diners Club International. Diners Club is exceptionally international, where ever DCI is accepted so is Discover and vice versa.

Make sure that if you use your credit card like a bank card to withdraw money that you pay off the amount borrowed as soon as possible. These types of cash withdrawals are considered advances and the interest starts accruing immediately upon withdrawal. That means there is no grace period with which to pay back the amount you have withdrawn... you will be charged your prevailing credit card interest rate from day one.

This is an easy trap to fall into, and most people do not realize this until they've accrued a lot of interest.

Wow - I had no clue about the Dynamic Currency Conversion trap -- I always asked them to change it to dollars. You guys saved me at least $500 per year!

Thank you!
