A tip of my hat ... I have absolutely no connection to the company but wholeheartedly second Rose Salas's sentiments -- this is sheer marketing genius and continues the company's pattern of leadership. If executed well (and I expect it will) this initiative will attract new customers and will go a long way toward retaining those that are already on board.

Nice work.

Now if only they could provide the actual meaning of life - that would be amazing progress and a real value-add for a financial services firm.

To do that they would have to expand their horizons beond finance to reconcile scriptures and spiritual writings with modern science. Fortunately for them and those interested in the purpose and meaning of life it has already been done - the book The Ultimate Meaning of Life provides reall and practical answers. Maybe MetLife should just buy copies of it and give it to their clients.

For those who want to know the purpose of all life and meaning to their own life find the answers at www.meaningoflifebook.com. (It provides real, scientifically-based answers, without the usual religious or spiritual fluff).

MetLife is taking a holistic approach to personal finance, which is truly a marketing genius - thinking 'outside the box', and connecting the human element - our human emotions, values and life priorties - to our decision making process. The approach will definitely require a delicate balance as one treads gingerly into a person's psyche.
