Me and my in-laws take these online surveys for more then a year now. We signed up for cashcrate as well but they don't send out to many surveys. I am a member of about 25+ survey panels. First of I don't take sweepstake entry rewarded surveys (waste of time), only cash surveys (...or amazon code).
What we (me and my in-laws) liked when we started, there were no hiden costs and no expenses of any kind needed to start....so no risk. Some sites even gave us $5 for good luck. If you think to give it a shot please don't pay any fancy site for information (there is plenty of scammers trying to sell information that is available online - free!). To get free great information you could go to free survey info sites like we did. You should check out Surveyjet.net (thats how we started). They have pictures of real money made by taking surveys so we knew its legitimate.

I recently signed up to take surveys at http://www.cashcrate.com/2905149. It seemed like a scam at first but I just used a fake email for the spam emails and made 6 dollars in a little over an hour. Not bad just sitting there clicking.
