I was interested in the article then noticed a grammar error in the first minute. What a waste of my time.

If you skip college, you'll be taken advantage of for the rest of your career. As a hiring manager I know. It's easy to offer less money to someone with a degree, because you know they don't have as many options. Further, concluding that college sucks just because the author got a liberal arts degree is an overgeneralization. There are real disciplines out there that make real money, and attending college is the *easiest* way to get skilled in those fields.

Thank you for this article! I completely agree with you 100%. I've been trying to tell people this very same thing about why college is a waste of time and money. Some get it, others don't. I dropped out of college [Graphic Arts and Design] after one year and thought "What a waste this is! They're trying to teach me skills I already have the talent for and on top of that, trying to teach me how to do it differently rather than what feels natural to me." I had better things to do, like work and make a name for myself. So I went off on my own and because I gave myself the time to build up my skills in the real world, I never had any problem finding an employer who viewed me for my level of skill and established work experience. Because of this, within 6 years it has brought me to a level where I am now in business for myself and never needed college to get there. Just think if I continued that course of college, I'd most likely be $100+K in debt, wasted 4+ years of my life and would of just been starting my journey. Not to mention, just coming out of college and answering ads for employment, they're going to start you out at the bottom because you have no real world experience yet.

i spent 4 years in college. i graduated last December. the only job i could get was $10 an hour in manufacturing even though i received all As and Bs in my accounting courses. i am grateful that i was able to get a job but it does no good when my cash reserves are rapidly depleting with no surplus to replenish them. i will completely run out of money by February.

60k in debt. minimum expenses with only the library and free wifi for entertainment. no hope for a better job and certainly not an accounting job. think ill keep a few hundred in reserve to buy a cheap gun and a bullet for new-years eve.
