Thanks so much for sharing our tips. I hope everyone has a Happy Holiday and takes the time to celebrate life with friends and family this year!

my aunt hosts our annual Christmas gathering....she actually discovered it was cheaper to have the event catered then to buy (and cook) all the food for 30-ish people. My mom's one of 7 kids (all with spouses) and I have 2 sisters, and 14 cousins.

As an aside, why would people need to buy holiday decorations every year? I'm fairly certain my mom has had the same decorations for nearly 20 years...

Ooh, I love the idea of a chocolate-tasting party! This article is perfect timing for me because I am throwing a cookie exchange/holiday dinner party this weekend. I am trying to focus my time, money, and energy where it makes a big impact.

One tip I read recently was to put candy into fancy glasses (like Martini glasses) rather than regular bowls. I am setting my Christmas cards along a window ledge in the living room as decorations; they are festive, attractive, and inexpensive, so why not?
