cell phone numbers do not go public this month--a hoax

jenna of MI 1:51PM December 11, 2012

Its all past of there master plan to stifle growth in business and keep the poor, poor. Its also just another way for the government to make more money plain and simple. In doing so they are hurting people who rely on using the phone to make money. Companies are scared to pick up the phone and call someone now beccause they are afriad of the governnnment. Ever since they got a taste of dabbling into America's FREE enterprise they just can't get enough.

I hated that I ever added my number to the FTC's Do Not Call list, which should really be called the "The Millions of Verified Working Telephone Numbers Available for Telemarkers Who Wish To Violate Government Policies and Call The Numbers Anyway List".

Since I have added my numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry, I have been getting MORE CALLS! This is extremely frustrating.

Why does the FTC make this list available to telemarkers, the very people the list was designed to protect us from? It makes no sense. Do companies outside of the U.S. even have to comply? It's almost as if the government is exploiting us to make money off of fines!

I hate to disagree because some how, some way the telemarketers have gotten a hold of mobile numbers. I have had at least 6-8 call my mobile, google them and find 1,000s of complaints same as mine. I have my number on the DNC list - lot of good that does. I report each and every call and keep a list. I even had to answer one that called 2-3/day and scream at them to stop calling or I'd sue. I even reported them to the FCC. I've had 2 call today.

The marketing world is comprised of social mosquitos.

The blood vision of income drives their behavior where social conscience would never tread.

Any database created for public use would be abused by self-centered profit seekers. It would be like handing a drink to an alcoholic and saying, "It would be bad for you and society for you to abuse this."

Maybe some sales people out there care about individual privacy, but they won't last in the business long. Their sales managers will look at their numbers and shake their heads. Successful sellers count on those who are intimidated and overcome by annoying persistence. How many marketeers have called you which will shut up after you say "Sorry, I'm not interested"? The fact that you haven't hung up on them yet mistakenly tells their tiny minds they can still make this sale, because they have little concept of manners.

I don't know, but sites like http://whycall.me indicate a very different pictures, most of the people actually wonder how the hell a telemarketer got their cellphone number. It's no secret that if your landline is in white pages than getting telemarketing calls is unavoidable and we don't want the same thing to happen with our cellphones.

The majority of consumers may actually want "cell phones to go public" at least if the survey here (www.cellphonenumber.com) is any indication of what the majority feels. Certainly, their are privacy concerns but if you can separate cell phones going public from telemarketers dialing consumer cell phones I think you will find many phone owners are in favor of a public cell phone directory.
