What Kim Kardashian Could Teach Don Draper

You've got reporters like @alphaconsumer disagreeing with Jon, but I've noticed nobody's disagreeing on the Paris Hilton portion of what he said.

Oh please. I wish someone would conduct a poll on the most hated TV personality in the US. It would be Kim Kardashian. Why? Because she, and her family, are horrible role models for young people and that's her audience. Filthy sex talk, nudity, vile language. Let's teach our daughters that the way to fame, money and success is through the sale of a filthy (yes I've seen it -porn for sure) sex tape.

"grabbing the limelight in whatever way we can"

Yes, including sex tapes. Nothing screams out "intelligent" like a sex tape.

Jon Hamm didn't say Kardashian isn't famous or successful. He said she's stupid. If this article is implying you must be intelligent to be successful, then I'm not really sure I can even take this seriously.

Oh, and care to explain how this pins him as a sexist? Because the two names he named are females? Give me a break.

Kim didn't turn herself into a 'million dollar plus commodity', her mother started the ball rolling by selling Kim's sex tape. The kardashians have name attached to lollipops, diet aids and milkshakes and yes, Kim makes millions but I would not go so far as to call her one of the most successful female entrepreneurs of today. I don't think that she can say a sentence without starting it with 'like'.

This is literally the most ill informed article I've ever read. To insist that Hamm is somewhat sexist for his remarks is in my mind "stupid". We should not be praising someone who obtained their celebrity status through sex tapes and being personal shoppers. He has every right to speak his mind. He's just saying what we all think.

She built her name and her fortune the wrong way in my opinion.

Why do you assume his attack is "possibly sexist"? He never used a derogatory term for a woman, he never even said any derivatives of the female gender. He said that stupidity is celebrated and he's 100% correct. Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian both came from rich families so their success was insured by inherited wealth. They both came to the public eye after widespread sex tapes and their success has nothing to do with any brilliant idea either of them ever had. Don't kid yourself, he's not berating successful women--come to think of it, a great female writer and comedian Kristen Wiig seems to think highly enough of him to have worked with him twice. Kim Kardashian's been bashed by outspoken and brilliant feminists, too.

Jon Hamm is not Don Draper. You seem to be confusing them. Jon Hamm doesn't care about marketing himself or advertising, the man's an actor. Kim kardashian needs to market herself because what else does she have going for her? Name me one thing she did that was noteworthy. If she doesn't market herself as being something that she's not, she's got nothing at all.
