Great to stumble upon this very informative article! It's inspiring to know that many young women today still value parenthood and marriage as more important to them and that majority of all respondents, male and female, ranked being a good parent as “very important” or “one of the most important things” in their lives. Great to know that successful marriage ranks high too. As a "good modern parenting" advocate, this gives hope that parents of the future will retain the values and importance that parents before them allot to family and relationships. Here's an equally great post on a related topicyou might want to checkout. http://financesonline.com/motherhood-and-financial-status-for-better-or-for-worse/

Thank you for your comments, Louise. I am sorry the story offends you. I did not think that "having it all" carried a negative connotation or suggested that anyone was being greedy, and I find it interesting to hear that this phrase can be interpreted that way, so thank you for enlightening me.

this is an incredibly offensive article. since when is wanting to support onesself and one's family and reproduce "having it all." I thought for most men, that was just considered normal. This is not 1965, people, so please adjust your attitude to the fact that women are equal citizen to men, not people who are somehow being greedy by wanting the things men have taken for granted as their birthright. Its ours too.
