we dont have a swf because we dont have any wealth, just debt. swf is a way for nations with trade surplus to diversify out of the $US.

what about Alaska's permanent fund, the Permanent Wyoming Mineral Trust fund, and the New Mexico State Investment Trust Office? I was reading about these SWFs at www.swfinstitute.org.
