Bailout: GOP Votes 'Hell No!'

The problem is perfectly clear Bush's deficit spending is destroying this country.

While there is a huge financial crisis on Wall Street what does Congress and Bush do? Now don't forget we are the verge of destruction and the world will end if Bush doesn't get his way Mr. Doomsayer.

They pass a federal spending bill to the total tune of $630 Billion dollars and now they want to pass another $1.3 Trillion bailout to send to Wall Street!

Just think yesterday we saved $1.3 Trillion and the week before they spent $630 Billion we don't have and nobody is talking about it.

Why is that? Why aren't we talking about all the deficit spending and the foreign borrowing that this administration is doing? That is the real cause of our problems and until we realize it, it will only get worst.

The Democrat majority could have passed this if they chose. 95 Democrats said NO!

GOP simply represented that American constituents did not like being blackmailed. If this was the essential legislation needed why did the Dem leadership put ACORN kickbacks and many other pork items into their bill.

Obviously something is necessary to REFORM Washington.

Should run Pelose out of town. Not sure what is wrong with that woman. Need a better leader, now.

What are you missing?

A Republican Treasury secretary's proposal was shot down by negotiations with the House Republicans,

to solve the collapse of our economy caused by the Republican Bush Administration with the help of banking deregulation by a Republican Congress ...

And now no republican will step forward with any solution, except let the markets crash and let the credit markets dry up.

What a bunch of spineless republicans we have who won't admit their own failures or do anything about them. Get some backbone.

It doesn't look too bright of a future for the next president inheriting a sagging economy and the remanents of a war. As of today it would look like Obama will win the electoral college by 273-265. It may very well be a 1 term presidency until the economy can rebuild itself and the budget and taxes can be cut in late 2012.

Why are they not prosecuting those that caused or were activly involved with this disaster? And bail out ACORN? Please.... don't insult our intelligence.

Many responders have said FDR is responsible for our current situation, even though FDR pulled us out of a depresion by giving people jobs. I am also a depression baby, but my father was a high school math teacher in a small town in Kansas so his pay continued, and his background as a farmer's son helped us to grow our own food. But WWII also provided jobs, but I am not suggesting another war. We are enough in war, which is costly in lives and dollars. So no more war!

So who is responsible for out situation today? We are! We are the consumers of big autos using lots of gas, big homes also using lots of gas, and consumers of lots of things (most of which we don't need.

Now I am retired, and what happens to my saving, my IRA's? They give me less to live on. But that is our problem today, not in the past. And we have to solve it today.

You bet on term limits. How can you expect different results when you keep sending back the same folks over and over again? Pelosi, Kennedy, McCain, Byrd, Stevens, Dodd, Biden, Frank, and on and on. The have a 17% approval rating, but mark my words, the majority of incumbents, with more than 2 terms, up for election in November will be back next year. If so, you get what you deserve. Time to clean the House and Senate.

During our last economic upheaval we voted in a socialistic President who thought Goverment intervention was the answer to everything. Now more then 90% of Congress thinks that way. We will soon see another Great Depression, and it will only be worse, if we prolong it by passing stupid bailouts for Wall Street companys who helped wreck our economy.

We are now a nation which is in debt by over 10 Trillion dollars. An amount we can never hope to pay back. We have mortaged our future, and for what? So our roads could be repaved every 3 years wheather they needed it or not! We have spent the last 70 years wasting our money on needless things.

The "You know what" has just hit the fan my friends! America has been living a false prosperty now for a long time. Now maybe it will settle down and live within it's real means. No more stupid "No Child left behind laws" which we cannot really afford. Now...we shall all be lucky, if we can say each week, "Hey...I got enough gas to put in my Lawnmower...wow!"

We are only at the begining of a long hard road! I say this is a time to return to our spiritual roots and fast and pray to Almighty God. The devil got us in this mess, and only God will get us out of it!

The party of FDR started us down this socialistic road, and they are the last one's we need in office during a Great Depression. Let us all just pray to God that we still have cvil obedience if this thing becomes a monster we cannot control. They will have to convert schools into jails just to house the criminals, if there are no jobs to buy bread and Milk etc.

At least in the 1930's we still had a generation that was use to hard times and remembered the horse and buggy era. Now we are in the X-Box Generation. How will they all cope with having to live through something like a Great Depression?

We still owe money on that war too yet!

That being said, I hope Mccain wins the election. The party of FDR started us down this socialistic road, and they are the last one's we need in office during a Great Depression. I'm glad I got family in South Africa.I truly think when all is said and none...it may just be safer to live there then in the U.S. And that is nothing to laugh about!
