A $300 Billion Fiscal Stimulus Plan?

Im no Wall Street genius, but I'm a military wife and I see this from another perspective. My husband works 14-16 hrs a day and gets paid the same as a person who works 6-8 hrs a day if they're the same rank. So he cannot work another job. He's been in 21 yrs now. The kids coming in now are getting upwards of $20,000 to emlist (in certain job fields). And people like us get nada. The last stimulus check did go for bills and a one time splurge of season tickets to 6 Flags. We dont do credit cards so that we dont get into debt like MOST of the military people we know.So we dont have $$$ most of the time. We pay 1400 a month is child support for 2 kids. And he cant not pay-b/c he's military.Meanwhile, the State of Texas is getting paid by tax money to collect my measly $400 a month and it almost never comes.LOL.

Im starting to agree w/the poster above, why not give a huge amount per family and invest in our countries people, nit crooked companies. Im sure even though they're screaming bankruptcy they are including their limos and 8 figure salaries in their budgets! If each family had a sunbstantial amount of money we might see some improvement in things. EVen if its only 10,000 per person. Theres gotta be a better way than whats been going on lately.

I think most people would do like the guy said and pay off their debt and fund college and businesses.

I WANT TO KNOW IF WE GET ANYTHING FROM THE NEXT STIMULUS PLAN? IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE IT IS ALL GOING TO CREAT STATE JOBS.

IF THE GOVERNMENT WANT TO GET THE ECONOMY GOING , THEY NEED TO SEND US A CHECK BEFORE CHRISTMAS. WE ARE LOSING OUR JOB FOR A MONTH DURING THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. NOW WE HAVE TO MAKE A CHOICE. PAY BILLS AND TELL MY 6 & 8 YR OLDS THERES NO SUCH THING AS SANTA CLAUSE OR TAKE A CHANCE THAT ELECTRIC, MORTGAGE AND INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL UNDERSTAND============NOT! THEY DON'T WANT TO UNDERSTAND.

OBAMA HOPE YOUR KIDS HAVE A WONDERFUL AND BLESSED CHRISTMAS. WE YOU OPEN ALL YOUR GIFTS, THINK ABOUT THOSE OF US WHO CANNOT DO THAT FOR OUR CHILDREN THIS YEAR. TIME WILL TELL.......

If they get the checks out sometime after Thanksgiving they will have a good chance of seeing the checks put back into the economy. People would might use them for holiday shopping.

I disagree with any stimulus plan in general since our economy is able to be self-sufficient if the government would stay out of way. However, If a stimulus is to happen yet again, let it be a useful plan to rebuild our infrastructure and build a new energy infrastructure rather than "Giving" money which lasts only till people spend it usually foolishly. America needs work on our roads, utilities, properties, schools, etc... and we should be building a new energy infrastructure of hydrogen fueling stations, wind turbines, geothermal plants, electric charging stations, etc... Now that we are finally emerging from our modern dark age of no ideas and squashed incentives we must refocus ourselves upon our future else we whither on the vine. Simply the fact that a $10B investment to build hydrogen fueling stations to allow over 1 million fuel cell automobiles to be produced, sold and fueled to start our new hydrogen economy as DOE has planned should be enough incentive as requested by the automakers instead of a one time bailout of $25B simply to retool gas guzzlers lines to make more gas guzzlers. America must simply wake up and realize our future!!!

I agree with everybody, can't ever seem to get caught up. I am a single mom of 5 that doesn't get state aid or child support but works two jobs to take care of my responsibility. I look at my paycheck stubs and Uncle Sam gets a very nice chunk and has for a long time, (guess somebody has to help pay for their 6 digit payroll checks and fancy vacations)! I think it's about time for somebody to help the "honest" working folks that have elected them into office and given them the "good life"! I don't know about anybody else but I am tired of hearing about the rich getting tax breaks as our elected officials only "vision" of rescue. Everything has gone up in price and we pay tax on top of tax on top of tax. Social security is going out the window, and all the school programs that are "state funded with our "tax monies" are going one by one. If somebody doesn't stop sending our jobs away over seas and we don't get some help we are going to be in so much trouble. I don't know about you but a one time $500 stimulus (more or less) doesn't do too much these days! We all need more help. Cost of living is sky high but the paychecks never seem to go up as fast as the cost of living does! I say our govt. needs to be as realistic with our hard earned money just as much as we do!
