The Republican Party needs more younger representation similar to what Sarah brought to the campaign. I voted for McCain and am sorry he lost but it is time to recognize the younger generation needs to step up to the plate or we will continue to be stepped on as this election shows. We will all assuredly pay for this round with shifts toward socialism but if that is what the "majority" wants then so be it. And why don't we look at the real problem of higher health costs? Its the Health Insurance that needs to go! Why in heck we are paying a middle man industry instead of paying the actual providers - who should be the ones determining diagnostics and treatment not some unrelated observer who will never know you as your doctor will - is beyond me. Health costs have gone up BECAUSE of insurance. Malpractice lawsuits, another cost factor, there MUST be a better answer than this.

Ladies and gentleman of this great Nation. Yesterday we elected a socialist President. However,do not dispair, do not give up. No longer can the Liberal Left blame President Bush and the Republican party for their mistakes. Its is now time for the Liberals to take responsibility for the Nations failures. Remember America, these Liberals are an angry and vengeful people. They can not sustain their way of life without creating and wollowing in discord and dread. So one day they will turn on one another. It is at that moment we must band together and rise to retake the White House and Congress by voting these socialists out. the next four years under this socialist with radical extremist ties may seem an eternity, but ladies and gentleman we survived eight years of President Clinton. So I beg of you all, keep the faith and never stop fighting for the American way of life. Remember liberty and freedom is just a generation away from extinction.

God Bless are great nation and its People...

I am so happy that Obama won the presidency. Now all you radical (racist) extremist can move out of the U.S.; as you all so often threatened. Hmmm! Now, where can you go? Canada? No they don’t like racist either!, South America? No, you don’t like Hispanics. China, no they were also pulling for Obama! I guess that leaves Russia…… Well, if you all stand on the shores of Russia, wave to Palin for me! GOOD BYE AND PLEASE DON’T RETURN WE ARE NOW FILTERING OUT BIGOTS.

Media money matters so much in presidential politics, the actual spread in the popular vote is a statistical artifact. Candidates allocate resources per state based on probability of success. Obama knew how to produce a giant electoral college victory, and that's how McCain got his brains beaten in.

Palin definitely hurt McCain's campaign, badly, where it mattered--in truly contested states. Who gives a crap if she got out the vote in already-red states. Meaningless.

McCain and Palin should have won...end of story

Ok,so James Pethokoukis was completely wrong. The blog should have been "Why McCain Will Get Thumped". #1 would be he's George Bush II, #2 He foolishly wants the Iraq war to continue, #3 George Bush has run the country into the ground, #4 He has no new ideas.
