If you start with Citi, and wipe our BHC senior debt, BAC, WFC, JPM are soon to follow down the drains. We would never be able to take them private again. Imagine a Citi IPO....150 Billion assuming maybe 7% Tangible common equity...lol wont work. The best strategy is still to dilute existing stockholders with new common equity. Sorry shareholders.

Thankyou for this excellent article. Particularly you take on the WaMu fiasco. I and many others have believed this for sometime. But most of the media want to just marginalize us as conspiracy theorists. Well just because its a conpiracy doesn't mean its not true. To Blame Sheila Blair for the vaccuum of value inherent in our all eyes on what's making money now market is preposterous. I don't believe that to be your entire intent though. Total collapse of global investor confidence in our banks As A Resuult of nationalization would not be so bad for Americans long term. Do you forget where they get their food from . Are we at a shortage of real wealth in this country?? Total nationalization albeit temporary with eventual recapitalization and a win all for US A is not a bad thing. Unless you have put too much faith in these guidons of investing and are poorly positioned for it! If you speak FOR a FREE MArket then it msut be FREE to FAIL. If you don't then be FAIR to First Your compatriots then think about the world. OUr country has taken enough of a fall for the world without payback . It is time to pay the piper.
REALITY now shows how they are experimenting with poor representaion to make up for msimanagement . Two wrongs will not make a right. taxpayerrs have paid for the greed. Now they will pay for the @#$! poor portfolios.Supporters of this should be ashamed. It is treason and theft . Instilling confidence in the market for its own sake is propaganda and mirrors the attitude of the media in its recent coverage. No matter what side of the fence you find yourself on in this downward trend You should look for the best solutions (read farest) . Some win and some lose is not a solution.
I propose a "bailout tax" posed localy on all banking entities that benefit form this handout. And man making less than these guys have stolen historically will surely be Willing to support it.

Letting this bank fail was the most tremendous irresponsible
error on Sheila Bair. How could the goverment allow this single
person to { shake the economy ?? } After Leaman Brother
the whole country was shaking and scared out of their wits !!
How could Bair do such a wreckless thing. What happened the
very next day - guess ? Wachovia . The trend it seems is irreversible all because of Sheila Bair. Who would want to Invest in Bank Stocks When Sheila Bair's In Charge ??
I personally took a huge loss, and not only would i not invest
in bank stocks, i lost all my confidense.
They allowed Sheils Bair To Decide To Bring The Country Almost
To Our Knees. The Goverment Should Reverse The Decision And
Give Wamu Back, The Share Holders Are Main Street too .

We all know that FDIC has cheated with WM shareholders and this Sheila Bair is behind all of this among other people. I am surprise that most of representatives in the congress are mum about it; as if they have gained something or they don't care.
