Those CEOs apparently jumped through enough hoops for Washington. Either Bush signs it (which he will) or Obama does, my sources tell me. Only just the beginning, though ...

We bailed wall street with no vote. They were ready to bail the big 3 and Gettlefinger and the union turn it down. Let them all go under. If they give it to them they need to be voted out of office. No way will I ever feel sorry for them after this. They can't make any deals then let them look for other work that pays half as good.

Where is our money going of IN 7:45PM December 12, 2008

I guess it is time the laber unions (and in this case espcecially the auto-workers) finally face their own self-driven demise. How is it that they are funding hundreds of thousands of empoylees who are retired, or layed-off...some who are being paid (up to) 95% of their salary!!?? Even when sales and profits have plummeted for years.

I know and have known many union workers in my 46 years of life. My father being one of them. He did not abuse the system. Though MANY others I have know have and CONTINUE to. Some so rudely, and ruthlessly that I have had a hard time looking them in the face.

I read today that some are receiving up to 95% of their PAY after being laid off.

What is THAT about??? NOT to mention the COUNTLESS high-payed executives that are not only being paid outrageous salaries, but continue to be so long after their services are being rendered.

I am sorry, but there are MANY other MUCH harder working poeple who have worked, are working, and/or will be working for MUCH better causes (or not) and who deserve at LEAST as much. (Probably no one deserves this, and even so, will never reap these kinds of benefits, especially while sitting at HOME.)

THIS IS ABSURD. And even though I will not totally denounce labor unions, I am SERIOUSLY APPALLED by what is STILL going on in this sad, GOD-forsaken Country of ours. I THINK IT IS TIME FOR EVERYONE TO WAKE UP AND REALIZE WHAT IS GOING ON.

IT SEEMS TO ME...that there is a close (or not) tie between the (SOME) labor union employees and welfare recipients. YES, I SAID that!

I get my facts from many reputable sources, including some LABOR UNION workers. SOME I respect and some I do NOT.

I don't know of ANY other sect of laborers/workers/employees that have more protection, cushion, wages, etc... than a lot of union workers I know. The abuse some of them give their superiors, the number of vacation days, the inflated salaries (usually for the MINUTE level of work they do), the gripes, whining and benefits they reap, while funneling ALL or MOST of the cost to the companies they work for, to the American people, (while denying it) MAKE ME SICK!

IT'S ABOUT TIME FOR THE DOWNFALL AND REFORM OF MOST AMERICAN LABOR UNIONS.

OH, OR is it the REST of the working class who is NOT PROTECTED by such farces and working 3-4 or MORE times as hard, who is supposed to SLAVE up to the plate to support the disgustingly arrogant, (lazy) values of the elite union (working?) class.

Sorry if this offends anyone. Oh, damn, I almost forgot, we are almost in a depression. O.K., now I don't feel so bad.

So, bail out? or not? THAT IS THE QUESTION......AND WHERE WILL IT TAKE US...HOW WILL WE BENEFIT...WHAT WILL IT CHANGE (ULITMATELY) WHO WILL IT BENEFIT (AND WHERE WILL THEY GO FOR A LUXURY VACATION?) BEFORE WE ALL REALIZE, THERE ARE FAR MANY MORE PROBLEMS AFFECTING FAR MORE PEOPLE FINANCIALLY, THAN THIS OTHER (YET ANOTHER) BAILOUT IS GONG TO EVER HELP.

THING ABOUT IT! PLEASE!

it's always funny to hear the same comments from people about the big 3 auto industry. Maybe it's time to think for yourselves instead of repeating what you heard on whatever political tv program you had on last night. I think a poll should be taken to find out the jobs the people have who are against loaning this money to these auto companies. I am willing to bet none of them have any ties to anyone who would lose their way of life if the big 3 goes under. I also would like to know their opinions on loaning banks tons of federal funded money without batting an eyelash, or how about the billions and billions of dollars not to mention lives of our young men and women sent to Iraq for years to fight a war over oil. We send billions to a country that hates us for all intensive purposes, but when it comes time to help our own, people here have slot of doubt. I'm not sure why the new flavor of the month In the US is to bash the auto industry, and the uaw but maybe people should get all the facts first, and the fact is, do we as a country need more people out of work? Realize this is a loan not a bailout. Remember once we go, your job is probably next!

-buy AMERICAN- support your people.
