Obama's Wasteful Stimulus Plan

There is sooo much "pork" in this stimulus bill that could be AVOIDED if you would just VETO it and let it go back to remove the BS so that the American people don't pay for this S---t at this time --- We all know that in the future we should/could want to help out those entities that need support for pig farms, grape farmers, etc.,etc., ect., But, NOW IN A TIME OF CONSIDERABLE CONCERN/CRISIS, the American people just want to have the MOST IMPORTANT matters taken care of -- not the smell of pigs (over used, but a very appropo example) things taken care of

We already have too much on our plates, we don't at this time need to include everything -- we just need to take care of workers, homeowners, etc., retired older investors --

Let's take care of this FIRST -- you will have more time, a later time to take care of this superfulous stuff later -- this is the time to take care of basic matters --

PLEASE VETO THIS PARTICULAR PROPOSAL OF THE STIMULUS PACKAGE AND TAKE OUT THE "STUPID STUFF" (THE AMERICAN POPULUS' FEELING OF IT) AND AT ANOTHER TIME INCLUDE WHATEVER ELSE YOU FEEL NEEDS TO BE DONE.

At this time we don't have to do the "blue plate special" -- we just have to take care of the basics -- and that isn't what is included in this bill.

PLEASE HEAR THE AVERAGE AMERCAN -- WE DON'T WANT/NEED THE BILL AS IT IS WRITTEN --

LET'S TAKE A DIET -- TAKE OUT THE PORK -- WE -- THE AMERCIAN PEOPLE -- JUST NEED THE "PORK" TO TAKE CARE OF OUR FAMILIES INSTEAD OF SOME FISH, WHALES, GRAPES, PIGS -- THE AMERICAN FAMILES NEED THIS PORK TO BE TAKEN OUT TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES AND NO ONE ELSE --- NOT EVEN ANOTHER COUNTRY AT THIS TIME --

LET'S FIX THIS FOR AMERICA --- NOW -- WE CAN LOOK TO THE FUTURE THAT YOU PROPOSE -- WHICH IS VERY INSIGHTFUL AND FORWARD THINKING -- RIGHT NOW -- WE JUST NEED TO FOCUS ON TODAY!!! FORWARD THINKING CAN COME A WHILE AHEAD

It is sickening. If you have worked your entire life, lived within your means , saved for the future and have been a generally law abiding Americal citizen, you just get slapped in the face by the goverment. They want to take more from you that you can give and shift your hard earned money to idiot wastful programs and to people who did not work, save or contribute to society in any way. How does this encougage the next generation to work hard for what they want and live within their means? I hope with all my heart that we (regular folks)can get together and start a powerful, viable 3rd political party that can get these wasteful , corrupt politicians out and people who actually want to serve our nation in.

Infrastructure jobs program- excellent idea!!! $200 to $1000 for individuals and couples? Sorry- that doesn't cut it at all!

That amount will get a dribble of money into the economy- that isn't enough! I believe the stimulus needs to include tax rollbacks for 401ks, a new housing program where the govt (through their new relationship with Fannie and Freddie) allow new mortgages for those facing foreclosure- these folks should be offerred a loan to pay the investor rate of 40% for their home to the bank and I DON"T EVEN CARE IF THAT MEANS THE BANK TAKES THE HIT- and that is a final hit- no recourse to the consumer. Ask why? Because the mortgagees are nice enough to even continue to participate in the economy!) The consumers of America should then be bailed out in the same percentages as Chrysler and GM- In the same percentages as the banks, as the pension funds, as the stockholders, as the credit card companies- heck, if Ben in DC can come up with a new group to throw money at every day, why has he never chosen the right group? He needs to take econ and finance 101- the fact remains corps spend more than they save overall, consumers save more than they spend overall- consumers and small businesses make up 2/3 of the economy- when consumers get-say-$10,000.00 a piece in stimulus, if they pay off debt- the economy wins; if they save it, the economy wins; if they spend it, the economy wins! How ridiculous that anyone would recommend such poverty level stimulus amounts to the ones who hold ALL the leverage to make or break this economy! The American consumer is the only answer!

I have to agree with most of you, we need to take care of our citizens first!! I have said for years that our money should stay here, We are the only country that fights for another country's freedom and then have to pay to restore it. Did anyone help restore us after Pearl Harbor or 9/11? We can't afford to feed, clothe, house or give medical treatment to our own citizens but we can support ILLEGAL immigrants and people in other countries. If I can't affors to do these basic things for my family why would I do it for the neighbors?? We need to take care of our own first, then worry about the rest of the world.

Here is a link to a petition I created about having a law that gives US citizens priority during layoffs.

I agree that the Seniors should be helped first. I'm fine with Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security. I do believe both must be reformed because it will be bankrupt by the time I retire. By the way Bush had a good plan for that. Not a stupid plan like taking away our 401(k)s which is being discussed now! Also let's help US citizens. I and two other co-workers at an Information Technology Company were just laid off. I understand when the economy is bad, layoffs have to made. The problem is that I and my two co-workers are U.S. citizens while not one of the workers on a work Visa was laid off. In fact over half the people in our department were non-US citizens on work Visas. I was told by a co-worker that they couldn't be laid off because they would have to go back to India. This is ridiculous! A law should be passed that U.S citizens should be given preference during layoffs. I was the only person who was certified for the job in the department which makes my layoff even more unfair. I also had been with the company longer than anyone else in the department - ten years. Now that the Dems are in power, let's see if they really will help US citizens by sending some of these non-US citizens home. All they have to do is pull some of these work visas.

Let's see: We have a recession because of massive overspending and overborrowing (the courtesy of both Republicans and Democrats). We are, as a nation, AT LEAST $55,000,000,000,000.00 (that's $55 trillion for those who aren't mathematically inclined) in the hole. We have lent trillions of dollars to people who had no business ever getting a mortgage in the first place. We have thieves and corruptocrats ruling Washington and Wall Street. And now, we have a media darling who now wants to spend even more, a LOT more. People, I have a newsflash: WE ARE BROKE. WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY. HELLO. We need to stop spending, stop borrowing and start living within our means. If that means an cross the board cut in federal spending, so be it. We need to grow up and I'm seeing precious little evidence of that happening.

I'm from Long Island, and I'm afraid "senior couple" is just another xenophobe who gets to share in the blame for the violence on Long Island against immigrants, legal or otherwise.

No sympathy from me for people filled with hate. Especially when they don't know what they're talking about and refuse to learn.

Perhaps "senior couple" wouldn't be in such a jam if she wasn't spreading the hate. It doesn't tend to make people want to help.

I am a Conservative Native American woman from Sacramento California.(I know, I can barely believe it myself)

I believe in self-reliance to a point. For example, our generation doesn't respect or take care of our elders like we should. Young healthy people should not be recipients of "spreading the wealth". Hell No! Instead our elders who have worked hard their entire lives should be at least guaranteed Free Health Care! I would like to see Obama's Wasteful Stimulus Plan "hit the road". He has it all wrong.

He should dedicate funds to help people like the Long Island Senior couple who struggle to pay for their needed medical bills. These are the people we should be helping. The people who worked their entire lives, paying taxes, and purchased a home they could afford. All with the hopes that their country (president) would appreciate their hard work, and honor them for doing things the right way.At least give people something to look forward. Allow people to earn Free Healthcare as seniors.

Keep our seniors healthy and happy and they will be capable and I'm sure happy to spend their money to help stimulate the economy.

Do the words "thoughtfully crafted" belong in any sentence having to do with government activity?
