DO you even believe this huge rationalization you just made. So your argument is that even though Bush destroyed our economy, It is Obama's fault. This economy will be hard to fix from such incompetence like Bush and guys like you who think thievery is a reward for brains, breeding, and education. Therefore it is all the democrats fault that your Bush, You, and your croniews couldn't be trusted without a Mommy government regulating you. Your like the guy who kills ten people if he drives over 80 on the freeway, so they create a speed limit to protect us all from oafs like you

For one thing, it sure seems that for a guy who did nothing but talk about change, there sure ain't much. He's not taking the troops out of Iraq. They're going nowhere and he knows it, that's why he's kept Gates in charge. It's funny, we've had to hear for years from Pelosi and Reid how terrible the Bush tax cuts and stimulus plan was terrible and yet here that's exactly what they want to do...I though Obama represented the party of ideas and change?

The left with the help of the liberal media did nothing but undermine Bush these last 7 years. They sabataged the 06 and 08 elections by obstruting reform and sinking the economy and it could have been prevented or at least managed. Barney Frank blocked fixing FM/FM, that's documented, even after Clinton appointees were guilty of cooking the books with false revenues and collecting huge bonuses. Dodd blocked Finance reform, all the while he gets undermarket VIP morgage rates from Countrywide, thats documented. Both Frank and Dodd recieve campaign money from the very companies they are supposed to be refereeing and the American taxpayer is left with the bill for these clown's ineptitude. How does Chucky Schummer got off when he publicly leaks the solvency of IndyMac causing a run on that bank and 3BIL in assets are withdrawn, now it's in bankrupcy and being sold off to Soros group. All these events happen between Aug. and Oct. how convienient. Republicans better grow a pair and fight back, get the facts, pound the public and the media with the facts, be relentless and don't give in, expose these DemacRATS for the fakes and phonys that they are.

He's no longer Mr. Obama, he's now President-elect Obama. And when he is President, Obama will fix this country the same way that Democrats have been cleaning up after Republican administrations for the last century. We'll handle it from here.

I think billybob of ND was questioning the placement of the apostrophe between the "a" and the "'" in Ya'll vs. Y'all.

But back to the main event, Obama will not own the recession (or worse) as long as we have a media that is crusading for truth, justice and the American Way. Er, I mean, as long as we have a media that is NOT crusading for truth, justice and the American Way. The Bamster will be given wide latitude and forgiveness, while the media embarks upon the most ambitious econcomics education project undertaken in history. This story line will ensure that no matter what happens, Obama will receive credit for good and will be exculpated for the bad.

Eight years from now as we huddle around garbage can fires, black smoke darkening the skies, we will be rolling up newspapers to toss on the flames whose headlines proclaim the success of Obama's latest government jobs creation program.

The worst part of it all will be that, truly, George Bush and Big Government Conservatism paved the road to perdition. Now there is darned little that we few remaining conservatives can say except..."Well, Bush was better than Al Gore would have been." Bush and Paulsen set this bailout juggernaut in motion and it is entirely fair that they receive the opprobrium that they have well earned, regardless of how truly shared the blame is.

Dear Bill,

"We have an arrogant, incompetent, illiterate, and inept fool in the White House the last 8 years that solved no existing problems but created new many ones and made the old ones worse...."

If the above is true, then why...

a) haven't you already been killed in a terrorist attack?

or

b) haven't you set up new digs underneath a bridge down by the river?

or

c) are you wasting time by posting on the Web? Shouldn't you be in a soup line or waiting for day work at the union hall?

They tell me Obama is smart. If so, then why would he pursue such idiotic economic policies?

If he wants to have a successful first term, all he has to do is put an end to the bailouts, repeal TARP, cut taxes across the board (corporate, income, capital gains), cut spending, eliminate unnecessary regulations which only hamper productivity, and let the recession do its job.

If he doesn't, then the Dems will lose their majority in '10 and Obama will not be re-elected in '12.

He could be the Reagan of the left, but he's obviously more wedded to a failed economic ideology (Keynesian) than he is to reality.

Ya know all you libs have the same "turrets" syndrome mantra. It was Bush, blame Bush, ehhhh Bush is the problem. I can hear it now. Two and four years from now. Its Bush's fault, blame Bush, get Bush.

If you think big guv'mint is the answer than you're retarded too.

The Republican party goes to great lengths to charge us up within the base during the Elections. Talk of free markets, strict interpretation and adherence to the Constitution, strong military, and moral values can be energizing to myself and others in the so-called "Republican Base". But I have realized after eight years of the Bush Administration that the Republicans did not act on their promises in 2000 and 2004. I like Bush personally and he has faced great challenges and has met them with courage and hope he does great things as an ex-president, but I have mixed feelings on much of his policies. Cheney-Rumsfield-Wolfowitz-Delay and the other corrupt Republicans became liberals with their expansion of federal power and their spendthrift policies.

I think we need to stop the too-big-to-fail ideology and the Corporatism and Socialism that is gripping our nation. We need free markets based on the rule of law and competition. We need more use of the Constitution in the business of governing and to cut the corrupting influence of government from our lives, restore our civil liberties under the Constitution, adhere to the reasonable limits on federal authority to intervene in commerce, and stop the increasing centralization of power and restore our federal system. We need to build up our military but practice realistic foreign policy. And, we need to respect, adhere to, and promote old-fashioned morality and values - which includes setting moral examples in our daily lives, passing legislation on the state level, and practicing tolerance to those we disagree with.
