From the comments here you'd think that we're living in the best of times and Obama is going to completely destroy the economy. It just goes to show you how delusional the repubs are. This is the worst economy since the great depression and we have repub policies to thank for it. Over $10 trillion repub debt added since Reagan's deficits don't matter fiscal policies. The financial system is on the verge of collapse and has to be given hundreds of billions of dollars because of repub no regulation/deregulation look the other way banking policies. If you've deluded yourself into thinking a few black folks in the ghetto defaulting on their home loans caused this mess, I suggest doing some research on credit default swaps and bank lending practices since Bush came into office and you'll find the real reason. Obama can't destroy the economy because it's already been run into the ground by the repubs. Bush did not do this alone. He had support from every republican in office for his trillion dollar Medicare giveaway to the drug companies, Phil Gramm's deregulation of the commodities market, to his grand adventure in Iraq that's cost us a trillion and thousands and thousands of lives, to his latest trillion and counting giveaway to the banking system. I'm just amazed that there are any republican supporters left anymore given the scale of the incompetence of the last eight years. And folks wonder why the German people blindly supported Hitler until the end. It's one thing to have policy differences with Obama, but to act like the repubs are the greatest thing since sliced bread is delusion bordering on lunacy.

Pure comedy gold.

Yep, just keep thinking we Kossacks are against the wall and whining over our overwhelming political wins the past few years. The fact is we like it when you spew utterly fantastical and sanctimonious delusions of grandeur in the face of a your recent, humiliating defeat.

Good thing I can't take even one of your toothless, out of touch and hysterical rants seriously. If I did, I just might have to "wretch."

What is it about you Republicans that make you so ignorant? And the kicker is after supporting a half-wit and his loser administration for eight years who have effectively run the country into the ditch, you still have the guts to mouth off like you know what in the hell your talking about. Please, go play some golf, watch some internet porn, sleep with your best friend's wife, fire some more of your imaginary employees from your imaginary business and all those other things that Republicans do. For God's sake, find something to amuse yourselves for a few years while the poor souls that have inherited your major mess try to clean it up. Don't just threaten to go into hibernation men...DO IT...for the sake of the country.

If Mr. Pethokoukis (whom I would refer to as "Mr. Alphabet" if I were as orhographically and grammatically as lazy as he is) meant when he said, "Let the wretching begin, Daily Kossacks." that we at dKos would be literally disgusted, he of course meant "retching". "Wretch" is, of course, not a verb, therefore has no gerund.

But what do I know? I'm not a published journalist like Pethokoukis, or an editor of a pillar of journalism like this publication.

What do we expect from a no-experience, no-substance illigitimate POTUS? He hasn't paid any dues to be in this position. He hasn't been a businessman, a mayor, an attorney general, a govenor, or even a full term senator who's accomplished anything besides warming a seat. This seems like a nightmare that is not going to be over soon and I believe that daily we will have to monitor every move this guy makes. Look at the poor choices and decisions he's made already. I think that scandal is going to be the by-word once again and with the Clintons close at hand to mentor him along his way, what fun! Where's the change? He's already gone back on his word to usher in a new kind of Washington. That we are forced to take this neophyte serious as our next POTUS is insulting to people who really have to work and save and strive to maintain house and home in this society while trying to believe that thier elected officials are dedicated to being faithful/knowledgeable public servants.

Whether Democrat or Republican, and I lean toward Republican, most of the blasting of politians is to cover our own insecurities, It isn't that this person or that is a liar - it is about how well the lies are covered and whether or not one or another is found out. The game of discovery and the resentment over having broken the 'Liars Code' is what people get upset about. Believe me, when the rare person does tell the truth it is considered lies because telling the truth is unpopular. Again, blaming someone for lying is just a way to punish them for having revealed the truth. Lies are what is not said - not what is said, because lies are to conceal the truth. Figure it out!

You are an absolutely pathetic, dishonest joke. You are no better than Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter. Do you have any standards? Do you have any integrity? Just one example:

"...the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank founded by Obama transition co-chair John Podesta, said the Obama plan was chock-full of 'special interest favorites' and 'long-discredited conservative proposals'"

This is just a lie. Will Straw wrote nothing of the sort:

"To ensure that public money is not irresponsibly wasted, the legislation must break away from special-interest politics and conservative filibustering. Public money should be spent wisely and in the most effective way to address our economic woes. A rapid and aggressive economic plan must not be obstructed by demands for pet projects from either side of the congressional aisle or long-discredited conservative proposals such as permanent tax cuts for the rich."

One thing I truly loathe is a liar, and Mr. Pethokoukis, you are a liar.

Liberals should have learned from Clinton era and concluded that their bizarre notions are stupidity from an earlier era. Move on, Baby. Hey, only modern day Don Quixote's join Moveon.org
