Hey, I actually dislike Pelosi but her feelings on contraceptives is being taken wrong. They're not saying force people to wear them. They just want them easier to get for people. There are plenty of kids and people who get pregnant because they didn't have money or access to them easily. So, they risk it and get pregnant and then have things like religion or family force them to keep it against their will. If anybody wants children, they're able to have them. They're not suggesting surgically implanting them on the financially challenged. Just making them more accessible for people before we get to the point where some may not feel they have an option. I know of several people that didn't want kids but felt they had to have them because religion. If they had a condom or birth control, I know a few of them wouldn't happen. I think it's an easy cut from the bill but there was a reason for it. Anyone who's too strongly going against it voted for Bush and that's why we're in this problem!

Pelosi is right and Boehner is wrong. Contraception is good for the economy, and saves most taxpayers money on average. Short-term, it reduces the revenue loss from deductions and child tax credits, and releases money (net even after loss of credits) and productive time to parents or would-be parents. Long-term, it reduces demand on basic resources (like oil, copper, etc.) and reduces the cost and pressure for alternatives to the rest of us. BTW there is no legitimate advantage of any kind; social, economic, etc; to population growth once density like ours has been reached.

It's a ruse, folks. Democrats don't care up contraception. They obviously put that provision into the stimulus package so that when Republicans complained, they could cut it from the legislation and claim they "compromised" in the spirit of bipartisanship. The Soviets used to pull that same routine at the negotiating table. They'd give us a list of demands, most of which they didn't really want. Then they'd back off on those demands so the U.S. would compromise in turn. That's how they got Turkey from JFK and Poland from Jimmy Carter.

I cannot express how ashamed I am of being Catholic, due to Pelosi's comments. Madam speaker, please formally LEAVE my Catholic church. NEVER enter another Catholic Church and attempt to receive our precious Lord, for you are not worthy to receive Him. For anyone out there who's reading. The Catholic Church has always condemned contraception, and abortion. How Pelosi can actually call herself Catholic, while supporting the issues she does is mind blowing.

Hold on - these babies will not add to the workforce for at least 16 years. We are talking about short term impact in terms of the stimulus package. So women who become pregnant would at some point have to leave the workforce to care for the baby - at least 3 - 6 months. Now what about all the costs associated with a new child? And the stress it will put on that family to meet the costs in this economy? Family planning seems to be a right of the rich, but only a privilege for the poor, with your argument. Those families who want to delay having kids for a year or two, and cannot afford contraception otherwise, should have the same options as those families who can afford it.

Oh, yes, really, why would anyone really wnat to PLAN their families, when having another kid is just like picking up an extra carton of milk at 7/11?

No, let's just fill the world with more and more unwanted children.

Just because we CAN.

It all started with the 99%-white Iowans, remember? It's easy to be swayed by someone who says that race shouldn't be a factor, and then feel betrayed when the moment he's elected, that's all you hear on the Liberal news: "The U.S.' first BLACK President!!!!"

Feel like you were hoodwinked yet?

He TRULY cares about you? Then I wonder what would happen if he didn't? Open visas for psychotic jihaddist? We're pretty close.

He showed he cares more about what the Europeans and Middle Easterners think by giving his first interview to an Islamic news channel.

Uh, James...is the planet suddenly suffering from a population decline that we didn't know about?

Fertility is suddenly a problem in the US when now we have sextuplits (and now octuplits) reported on every day?

There goes population control outside the window.

Your argument that unwanted children pay into the social security fund is stupid, ad so is your sanctimonious and self-righteous drivel.

I know! We can build low-income housing for all these unwanted births across the street from your home! Yay!
