From Rep. Ron Paul's web site:

When [the fedeal government uses] the tax code, bureaucratic departments and their manipulative rules and regulations to dictate social and economic behavior, we end up with distortions and malinvestments.ailing out banks, continuing failed Fed policies and strapping the taxpayer with toxic debt will worsen the pain, and punish the innocent. If Congress really wanted to do something helpful, it would cut taxes.>  Ideally, we would repeal the income tax altogether and get the IRS off the economy’s back, which would be a huge boon.

I can only say that Congress as a whole has to be corrupt beyond anything we can imagine. I don't believe, short of getting every member of the House and Senate out of Office as soon as their terms are up, will we the people have the slightest chance of recovering.

Yes it is going to take tremendous sacrifice on America's part, but I for one would be willing to pay more taxes to get us out of this bind if we could absolutely not spend another dime and if that means doing away with the IRS and downsizing government in the process, then so be it.

I believe in a national sales tax, so thousands of CPAs would be out of business as well. And of course they could be retrained for other types of work. Maybe a body of them could work on a national budget, because we sure don't have anyone doing that now. Were spending more than our income. There should be some type of law that says we cannot spend more than the money available, except in times of emergencies.

We have to ask ourselves and Congress; what do you think you’re doing? Common sense dictates you can't spend your way to savings. Now that may seem too simplistic, but no one as far as I have been able to tell has enough leadership to go against the corruption. Maybe it is either because they are corrupt themselves or are afraid if they don't, something may happen to them.

I rather think we are dealing with people that are not too bright, or are as clever as a fox. Probably the latter. The moral fiber has slipped away and the American people's hands are all but tied.

Reporting and digging for facts is a thing of the past. So much for our News Reporters. Much of it has to do with the banking industry.

"Let me issue and control a nation's money, and I care not who writes its laws" ---Mayer Amschel Rothschild. Is this not what has happened? Thomas Jefferson was adamantly opposed to the idea of a privately owned federal bank and said “I sincerely believe the banking institutions having the issuing power of money are more dangerous to liberty than standing armies".

Henry Ford once said "It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning". I’m not so sure we are far from it.

And, as far as immigration goes, we have allowed corruption there as well. We sent jobs overseas for cheaper wages. We have allowed Illegal Aliens into the country for cheaper wages. So what does that say about big business and big Government?

No wonder the American populace is ready to explode. We have to take responsibility ourselves. After all we elected these misfits to lead our country. So what does that say about us as well? Not enough people to remove the cancer which has spread to all areas of the body.

Massive tax cuts and less wasteful government spending is the only "stimulus plan" with any merit. Why is it that so many politicians don't understand this? Oh, who am I kidding... expecting politicians to collect and spend less of our wages would require them to relinquish power back to the people and free markets. And then who would bail out irresponsible companies when they fail?

Our fascist country has strayed so far from the Constitution, it's frightening and pathetic. I concur w/ all the posters here about Ron Paul. It was criminal the way he was treated through out the primaries. He is a true Statesman while most, if not all other politicians are clueless and beholden to their special interests. There is so little difference now between Dems and Reps. We need Ron Paul now more than ever to save our country! It's about time the MSM is finally taking him seriously.
