Looks like Tom Daschle has withdrawn his nomination to be Health and Human Services secretary because of tax issues. President Obama has accepted the withdrawl with "sadness and regret." And  it's a twofer since Nancy Killefer, Obama's pick to be chief performance officer, also withdrew herself due to employment tax problems with household help.

The man made $5 million in the last two years outside of government. So he's giving up power but will likely grow even richer.

Geithner, Daschle, and Killefer hail from "The Rich" class of society that the Democrats love to soak. No surprise that they consistently try to skirt the tax man.

I view it as a good sign that those who have (could have) paid to have their taxes prepaired are choosing to withdraw rather than stack the President with a cabinet consisting of smart people with poor judgement. Maybe it's a new day after all.

The new administration has it's hands full already. I trust they will work hard to solve the problems our county and avoid adding to them.

Remember, the first step to getting out of a hole is to stop digging.
