Rasmussen Poll: Americans Want Tax Cuts, Not Obamanomics

it is not obama's intent to help the ailing u.s. economy. his intent is to turn this country to socialism. He is demonizing private enterprise and is poised to nationalize the banks. The economy is not as bad as the politicians make it out to be. The "bad economy" It is being hyped as catastrophic and obama and his comrades make it worse by constantly talking down the economy as well as the capitalist who are necessary to run it. Of course the goal of obama and his gang of theives is to undermine capitalism and make way for his (obama's) socialism and ultimately a Marxist communism.

I think people are forgetting that tax cuts are already in the legislation. It's tax cuts for the wealthiest that are not there that are getting Republicans upset. The spending needs to be cut down without a doubt, but there are plenty of problems around the country that need to be fixed. It is unfortunate that its politics as usual with stuff being thrown into the bill that doesn't achieve its goals, to stimulate the economy. But at the same time, we need to start fixing parts of society that are clearly hurting. Hard balance to strike.

Dear Sirs,

If we allow time, the recession will recover in normal recession time and we will go back to a thriving Capitalistic country. We do not need BIG government in the private sector.

I am TOTALLY against this bill.

Sincerely,

Libby Woods

Congress is doing such a lousy job. I wish they would stay home and quite trying to spend money. Give us the money back and we will spend it ourselves.

Mike, Your thoughts and suggestions for immediate ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL RELIEF IS SPOT ON!! GOOD IDEAS.

ISN'T IT SIMPLE TO FORMULATE AN IMMEDIATE AND "TIME PROVEN" SOLUTION TO THIS "CRISIS", ABSENT POLITICS?

THROWING MORE MONEY AT MORE GOVERNMENT, MORE "SPENDING" PROGRAMS, IS BY HISTORICAL STANDARDS, BOUND TO FAILURE.LOOK AT WHAT HAS WORKED IN THE PAST, HISTORY DOES REPEAT,IN BOTH BENEFICIAL AND MALEVOLENT WAYS.

SADLY,85-90% OF THIS POLOSI WRITTEN "STIMULUS BILL", WILL BE ENACTED,AND SADDER STILL,THE EFFECTS,I FEAR,WILL BE FAILURE!!

THIS SO CALLED "STIMULUS BILL",IS IN FACT A POLITICAL SPENDING BILL, NOT AN ECONOMIC STIMULUS BILL.

one thing is for sure, there is no econmic crisis in the Obama household. How dare that man use Airforce One to travel 66 miles at a cost of 33,000. that plane burns 1 gallon of fuel every second. Mr.Envoriment didnt really care about the carbon foot print he left when he went to Virginia to give the most inflamatory, degrading, partisan speach I have ever heard. Of course unless you watch the real news on Fox news channel you would'nt have a clue and you would not have had the chance to see obamas true colors. While he is busy indoctrinatng all you kool-aid drinkers i am going to go and pray for this country and try to remember when we were a democracy, but right after I rid myself of the embarrassment inflicted on this country last weak obama was slapped in the face by Iran. He can try to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony while the rest of us bend over and kiss our butts goodbye... way to go BARRY

I'm blown away by people who think that "tax cuts" apply to them. Over the past twenty years we've seen real household wages decline and minimal tax assistance. While the upper crust have had major tax advantages thrown their way along with the consequent concentration of wealth, the rest have had an actual increase in taxes. And now we wonder why we have a serious decline in demand!?

There is no self employment tax. It's called FICA and it applies to everybody. If you're self employed you pay the entire amount. If you're employed by another, 1/2 comes out of your paycheck and 1/2 is paid on your behalf by your employer. Passive income in the form of capital gains is not subject to it or 1.5% for medicare.

While my highest marginal tax rate went down by 2%, my overall income tax rate was reduced by less than that. Meanwhile my FICA taxable went from 80k to 106k. Consequently my last dollar earned is taxed at 48.5%. If I maid 1M then my highest rate would approach 36.5%. ( this is obviously simplified but demonstrative) This is what the republicans call an increase in revenue following a so called "tax cut."

Someone please show me a meaningful study that demonstrates a causative increase in GDP following a change in tax policy.

It's a redistribution of wealth to tax the rich but good for business to promote the concentration of wealth.

Tax cuts are always a favorite to Republicans, It all started with the trickle down theory in the Regan days. Cut the taxes of bussinesses and they in turn would give more to workers.

We all are seeing how that went, they took the tax cuts and sent all our jobs to China and India, these are the jobs that we will never get back, and also why we have the problems today.
