"We paid a lot more taxes in the Reagan, Bush I and Clinton years, and grew like mad." What??? Check your facts. Geesh. It's like people will just say whatever they feel like and not get their info straight. This is a dumb budget. It's stupid. Period. In this budget the U.S. is continuing to pay fo other countries' abortions--and this makes sense and is fiscally responsible??? Obama has the dumb nerve to suggest that we need not be the nanny state for other countries while using tax-payer money to fund overseas domestic issues.Goom golly!!!

The current year deficit (the money Washington has spent that we do not have) is 1.9 trillion. This figure does not include the new 3.5 Trillion budget. 1.9 Trillion works out to approx $4000 for every man, woman and child in the US. WHAT EXACTLY HAVE WE GOTTEN FOR OUR MONEY?

It's going to take a LOT MORE than pennies to correct this. The 158% cigarette tax, the energy Cap-n-Trade tax, these are taxes on everyone including the poor and working middle class.

I would be willing to pay more tax just as soon as Washington stops wasting it and pigs fly out of my....

"Taxing those earning over $250k is definitely not a hardship. "

Those earning over $250K already pay taxes. Likely a lot more than your 18% effective tax rate.

We paid a lot more taxes in the Reagan, Bush I and Clinton years, and grew like mad. All this fear stuff a bout a few rich people controlling our destiny is nonsense.

A penny tax - a 1 cent tax on every purchase made in this coutry would pile up, and be felt very little.

I for one am earning well, and paid less than 18% income tax due to lots of deductions etc. I can afford to pay more, and our household earns around $160k. Taxing those earning over $250k is definitely not a hardship.

Stop the whining! Taxes are how the government pays for all it does. Everyone said they wanted a war in Iraq - then pay for it. If you believe we need three new fighter jets, then PAY FOR THEM. Do you have a government job - taxes pay your wages. Are you a government contractor - taxes pay for your salary. Everyone wants to drive all over - then pay for the roads. Everyone wants to live in a safe community - then pay for the police. Everyone wants to have their kids well educated - then pay for teachers.

Too many think they deserve to get all this at no expense to them.

Lets vote on these things with our names associated. Then we can be charged based on what we vote for and supposedly support. If it was done that way - I'll bet a lot of folks would vote differently.

... can cost you 100% of your job.

Liberals need to learn this.

Republicans need to TEACH them.
