98% of all farms and 96% of all food is produced by family farms. And many of the smallest organic farms use manure. Celebrity journalists like Michael Pollan have cleverly created industrial farm straw men to appear to be pro-family farm in order to gain support for their ideas and policies which in fact directly target family farm operations.
