Palin Fan Can't Believe Sarah Supported Bank Bailout

Skip to about two minutes into this video, and enjoy the awkwardness.

She responds, "I don't think if you asked [Palin] today, she would support it."

Well, of course not. That's what you do when supporting small government suddenly becomes politically convenient—you switch positions.

Bruce Bartlett has a column today on a much bigger instance of Republican hypocrisy regarding small government. Most Republicans in Congress today argue that healthcare reform is unacceptable because it would cost $900 billion over 10 years. But six years ago, when President Bush proposed a prescription drug benefit that would cost $1 trillion over 10 years, many of those same Republicans were all for it.

String her up! Sign my book! If one central political figure can inspire rage and awe in the most polarizing way, it is Sarah Palin. My question is, are republicans starting to bail on the former governor?
With the debut of her new book, "Going Rogue" this electric character is once again center stage. Fighting wolves, big oil, tabloids, Levi and lawsuits are child's play compared to the incessant debasement of her character, beliefs, words, clothes, hairstyle, parenting and choices.
Will the conservatives get enough distance from the chopping block to escape Palin's shrapnel? While conservative media outlets have embraced the self-proclaimed maverick, politicians seem to keep a reserved distance. Much like extended family, they will have dinner with her, but don't want her around long term. McCain began to detach himself from Gov. Palin toward the end of the campaign- it was visible in his speech and demeanor.
So will Palin the Pirate once again try to steal the hearts, and votes, of Americans, or will she be subtly nudged off the plank by her Republican counterparts?

SOMETIMES I THINK WE HAVE TWO AMERICAS -REPULICAN AMERICA AND DEMOCRATS AMERICA WHEN WILL THE TIME COME; WHEN PEOPLE WILL VOTE AS AMRICANS FOR OUR NEEDS INSTEAD OF VOTEING ALONG PARTY LINES///??? THEY ALL NEED TO SIT DOWN AND AGREE ON SOMETHING!WHAT A BUNCH OF COWARDS!

Only a fraction of Republicans are actual consistent conservatives. Coburn, DeMint, Shadegg, Flake, Paul are some that spring to mind. The rest just blow with the prevailing wind, choosing party over principles.
