Software Gets Heftier in Maxtor OneTouch Drives

I RECENTLY FORMATED MY LAPTOP WITHOUT REMOVING MY PASSWORD ON MY MAXTOR USB HARD DRIVE.NOW I CANT USE ON MY LAPTOP OR ANY OTHER COMPUTER.ALL I NEED NOW IS THE SOFTWARE ON THE MAXTOR ONE TOUCH 4 MINI.TO BE ABLE TO GET BACK MY FILES.

Before I understood the concept, I deleted some of my older incremental backups to make room. Now of course the whole backup is not functioning. I tried to contact Maxtor for their advice but all I get is a quote from Seagate starting at $700! Do you understand the file and folder structure for these incremental backups? Is there something I could do to make it think that the backup is functional. I realize I will lose the data from the backups I deleted but I'm hoping I won't have to kiss the whole thing goodbye. Thanks.
