My 8000 set had a broken proximity sensor and ambient lighting. MS tech support says the product has been "discontinued" and no replacements are offered. However, you can get a full refund with 45 days of purchase from Microsoft Product Returns.

My set works fine except the mouse scroll wheel lost its setting for double click and cannot be restored.

Also, the printed letters on the kjeyboard are starting to wear, especially the letter e, after about 4 months of use.

MS customer service syas they cannot give any advice for the mouse or replacement keys.

Do I have defective units or is this a feature of MS keyborads and mice. Assitance would be appreeciated
