I hope to see more moves such as this. It's all about cutting out the middle man so that the bands can get what they deserve. Trent has worked hard and put up with plenty of sh*t over the years. He deserves every fan he has. What a great way for Trent to say "thanks"!

If people aren't willing to buy music they like, they will get it for free. If you truly are a fan you will likely buy the album, go to the shows, buy a t-shirt, etc...This is just great, hopefully more bands will catch-on.

Trent Reznor seems to visualize Internet as a form of expanding his fan base by making it available to people that can't buy his album for some reason, also as a form of promotion, like radio, TV, and printed media.
