The Motorola Z9

Smartphones like the iPhone 3G and BlackBerry Storm have an excuse for being a bit hefty. But the Motorola Z9 shows that some manufacturers continue to churn out handsets with more brawn than brains. The device is as big as or bigger than full-featured smartphones but offers little more than smaller, equally powerful handsets. Others also sell for considerably less than the $100 charged by AT&T for the Z9, after rebate and with contract.

One of the reason I like this phone so much is because of its size and weight!

First of all let me say that for the most part this phone is prety good, but when I purchased this phone I was told that it replaced the razer and that it was an upgrade from the razor. Just recently I was in a discussion with some of my foot ball buddies, and they were bragging about how they have personalized their phon by adding their name on the front of the phone. Now I have been bragging about AT&T and my phone. But i found that something as simple as putting my name on the phond I could not do and I received a bunch of critizisms about my phone in which I could not defend. If this phone is an upgrade from the razor phone,I cannot see the upgrade because with my razor phone I could put my name on the front of the phone. Now I can afford a phone that I can personlize if given the facts about the phon prior to purchasing it. Now I would have you to be mindful of this, I am not putting down AT&T but something as simple as putting my name on my phone to save face, I know we the AT&T organization can do better than that. Let me add that I showed them a picture of my favorite team the Dallas Cowboys in which is displayed proudly, but I would like to add my name. If there is a way to add my name on front of my phon please let me know.

I've had this phone since late july and i've loved every moment with it.
First of all the size of it really isn't that bad, it's not really cumbersome in any sense, i went from having a razr v3 for two years to this z9 and i like the size of this much much more, both phones are pretty wide, but they feel solid in your hand, especially the z9, it's a pretty heavy phone, it feels like a very high quality phone, and isn't cheap feeling like those small little phones that you compare it to, also the screen is a pretty decent size, and is really crisp and bright, the menu layout ios easy to navigate, and on top of that looks great.
It takes decent pictures, has a flash
has gps
plays music
texts great, the buttons really make the a big difference in texting (for the better)
plus it looks great, it's a beautiful glossy phone
and you say this phone is expensive? Aren't almost all phones, with the exception of free phones, pretty expensive? There really is no justification in pricing blackberries and iphones and the like $200+
Different phones are targeted to different consumers, and obviously people interested in smartphones wouldn't be interested in this type of phone, but for everyday casual phone users this phone is unique in it's size, and that's why it stands out from all the rest.
