The company is still the biggest manufacturer for the U.S. market, selling about one in five handsets this year, says MultiMedia Intelligence. It's been several years since Motorola had a big hit, and is at risk of becoming better known for its occasional true clunker. Samsung and LG stand to unseat Motorola next year in North America.
