Portable Digital TVs Arriving

I am now on my third portable DIGITAL tv. As a result of NOT receiving any channels on these wonderful products, I am searching the internet and finding that the problem is NOT with me and my location, it is with the TVs. Oh they work great on cable or on an antenna amplifier, but then what good is a PORTABLE if it has to be wired to the house or electricity.

Somewhere someone has to realize how unsatisfactory this market is.

I just returned a Haier HLT71 7" portable. The tv was built like a tank, just beautiful. It had all the goodies, except a weak digital tuner that wouldn't pick up stations within the city limits of San Antonio. My 19" Magnavox picks up every station around on rabbit ears. What's the differance in these tuners? Do some sets have internal RF Amps on the antennas or what? Anyone know?

The pentagon caused this outrageous gouging market for digital portables and should issue coupons to make them affordable the same way they issued coupons for wired digital sets.

I've been waiting for one of those 2 inchers. I got about 15 years of a little analog job, mostly for watching news and the McLaughlin Report at work. Sadly I left it on a bus one day, but I got my use out of it and it had only a limited life left before digital.
