Fuji Camera Trades Megapixels for Cleaner Photos

Hello:

I know that you are not paid to give info and advice about a Fufi F470. My kids have been using it and have changed the default settings that it came with (I assume it was them. However, I may have contributed to the confusion.

Would you be so kind as to guide me to the default settings and perhaps add some hints as to how to get the sharpest pictures possible with this camera? Or at least guide me to a book or manual that will explain it better that the highly technical (to me, at least) Owner's Manual that came with it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. All we use it for are normal indoor and outdoor photos. My local Fuji dealer tells me to follow the manual, which I don't completely understand.

If there is a nominal charge for this favor, please advise. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
