Until we stop big business from running this country. We will forever be looked down apon by them and the world. Can anyone explain why a country such as ares is so far behind in education? Why do third world countrys have better schools and teachers? Why do are children and grandchildren have to pay the price of our stupidaty? Why cant we school our kids or keep them in good heath? Why because we are so rapped up with the hungry and lack of food in others nations yet are blind to our own Until we can take care of ourselfs our great nation will die as ALL great nations in history

If you go to buy apples at the market, they usually have a wide selection from which to choose - from nice and firm to slightly rotten. Why are taxpayers, and their elected representatives, being rushed to buy only the rotten apples?

For just a couple of "common-sense" alternatives to the big bailout for billionaires, take a quick look at:

http://www.kycbs.net/No-Bailout-for-Billionaires.htm

Then ask your legislators, "WHERE ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?"

And, please RUSH do it NOW, before the next vote to have taxpayers buy the only rotten apple on the table!

Cut all homeowner's principal loan 15-20% and allow them to refinance at their current rate or to the current 30-year interest rate. This would immediately stall foreclosures and continue to put money back in the financial markets instead of all of these loans heading into default. Then all of these financial institutions could get back on track without needing this $700 billion golden parachute from taxpayers.

The statement in the article :"The top executives at Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, and Merrill Lynch all assured investors that their companies were doing just fine, even as losses and writeoffs mounted. But that's not fraud------" is a perfect example of what is wrong with the system. Lying to investors by those in charge is not fraud. Lying by political leaders is not fraud. Lawyers will tell us what is true or not. We are doomed.

A bailout package that we are told that we desperately need is filled with great benefits for banks and executives even after it is toughened up - like WE pay over market value for properties and many executives still get their millions which we will now give them with our bailout money. We are being taken for a ride.

the decision that is made in washington about the bale out isn't going to do a thing for the average middle class family we are still loosing jobs at an unbelieveable rate homes will still be forclosed on and families will be at poverty level or worse until the jobs come back to the united states and people stop buying products made in china and we are no longer supporting wars that are for greed over oil. i would like to see any of the politicans like mccain or obama (especially bush) come and live our lives for a month wondering if he would have enough money to pay the electric bill and still feed a family. come on people! americans need to stand up for what is right bring bacK our jobs to the united state so that we could pay the loans on the morgage so that the mommies and daddies can be proud to be americans and raise a family and still put dinner on the table without having to worry if there job will still be there tommorrow. instead of helping all the other countries we should have been helping ourselves BRING BACK AMERICAN JOBS so that the WE can save our nation IF NOT.... I KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO DO BUY A COUPLE OF COWS, PIGS, GOATS, CHICKENS, HORSES AND ANYOTHER FARM ANIMAL THAT I CAN EITHER EAT DRINK THERE MILK OR USE FOR WORKING ON A FARM AND RAISE THEM, A BUGGY, TURN OFF ELECTRIC AND GAS AND HEAT AND COOK WITH WOOD USE KEROSENE FOR LIGHT, GROW A HUGE GARDEN, TAKE MY MONEY OUT OF THE BANK AND HIDE IT UNDER THE FLOORS IN MY HOME, AND SELL OFF ALL MY WORLDLY POSSESSIONS, AND START LIVING LIKE THE AMISH SO I DONT HAVE TO PAY THE TAXES THAT "ENGLISH PEOPLE" DO AND SAY THAT MY RELIGION DOESN'T ALLOW IT WHEN THE GOVERNMENT WANTS MY MONEY DUE TO THERE OWN STUPIDITY IN RUNNING THIS COUNTRY DOWN HILL.

How long will "the people" of the United States of America sit around a listen too and take the BS being shoved down our throats! Until we "the people" grasp the true concept of our democracy this is nothing more than the "Proclamation of 1763" who's the Indian's now! Or how about the "Stamp Act of 1765" I dont claim to fame that I know what the best sollution for our country is right now, but I firmly beleive that we "the people" have let ourselves down, my true understsanding of democracy is "BY THE PEOPLE, OF THE PEOPLE & FOR THE PEOPLE"! I now ask you "the people" WHY do we complain about our elected officials but dont hold them accountable for not serving "the people"? The time has come and has been to let our voices be heard and taken seriously where we "the people" tell our elected officials what we need them to do instead of them telling us what their going to do!
