Recently Pension plan changes are in the air for General Motors as the company released their proposal for reducing their pension plan liability by an expected 26 billion dollars on June 1. The new plan has a deadline of July 20, 2012 and includes an option for select U.S. GM retirees to receive a lump-sum payment benefit. This along with other plan details can be viewed at http://www.gmpensionbuyout.net. Due to the complex nature of pension plan changes, it is strongly recommended to seek advice from a qualified financial planner.
