Why ,given the wealth of Chryslers parent company, the wealth of Daimler Benz (who is still a sizeable stockholder), and the wealth of Fiat ( whom exist by wholly through the trickery of relieving G.M. of billions.... why I say, are we giving this company money?

I was a technician for chrysler for 15 years, very disappointed in there product, poor workmanship, poor quality control, dangerous to drive!

This connection is exciting to me. I've had 14 Fiats and 14 other Italian cars in my long life. (I'm 76). I can hardly wait for the new Fiat 500 Abarth. Reliability was never a problem for me. Maintainance done with the proper mechanic was the key. The problem with some owners was a lack of this proper mechanic.
I'm praying for this connection to take place!

Rick, I think you are right on about Chrysler's position. I have sold them for 15 years in NY and Fla, but I think the ride is over without big bucks from somebody. And Fiat???. As Jim Mora would say "Are you kidding me,the play-offs?" I owned an 850 Spider and sold them in the 70's and you were more than generous in your reliability rating of them.Daimler will probably give Fiat their 20% just to get out from under any liability. 14 MPG won't do it anymore and someone made the wrong decisions. Stick a fork in it.
