Build a vehicle that is safe, reliable, economical, with a style that is acceptable my the mass. Unions should be accountable that workers give a fair days work for a fair days pay and forget the entitlement attitude - the company has to make a profit to. The industry was not established for you (the union worker)- it was created to sell a product at a profit. I have read that India is planning on importing a diesel truck that will average possibly 30 mpg - why is that type of vehicle not being engineered and built in America. VW and Honda I have read are planning to have diesel engines that will exceed mpg of American made vehicle - why? My life experience is that American made vehicles still lag behind most imports in reliability.

The Imports listen to what the people in this country want and make an effort to produce a reliable, safe, economical vehicle to meet these needs. If the big 3 want to stay in business they should pay attention to their competitors products and listen to their customers. What happened to natural gas and diesel engines in the American Auto Industry?

The problem all lies in the American Automobile industry. If you notice GM and Ford are redisgning their cars and suvs at last and about time. If you look from the 80s to present. I would say it finally took them more than 30 years to wake up and look at how ugly their designs were and the quality. Look at these acronyms and tell me if this is not a reality check for the American automobile industry. Who wants to buy crappy cars?

FORD=Found on the road dead also f_ucking old retarded dump

GMC= General Mills Car

BUICK= Big Ugly Isolated Car Killer

Dodge=Dumb Old Dump Gas Eater

Hummer=Huge Ugly Mother Mahem Exploding Retard

Cadillac=Car Acts Dead In Living Light As Catostrophe

America, you are no longer top dog in the worldwide market anymore, and its finally sinking, isin't it?

America, you are also the most gluttonist country in the world!

Cars, Internet, Digital Television, Name-Brand clothing, and millions of condoes and mansions as far as the eye can see.

If GM goes down, you have no one to blame but America itself.

This countey has been going to hell-in-a-handbasket for years. Its now a lot more noticable.

I found lots of interesting information on www.usnews.com. The post was professionally written and I feel like the author has extensive knowledge in the subject. www.usnews.com keep it that way.

"Bankruptcy would help GM accomplish what it needs to do. In addition to building more popular cars, GM needs to renegotiate billions in debt, slash the number of dealers, and reduce costly healthcare benefits for workers and retirees. It's been trying to do that for years - but the glacial pace of negotiations has made it impossible to move fast enough. A Chapter 11 filing would give a bankruptcy judge and appointed stewards of the company the power to force concessions that otherwise might take years longer to achieve - or never happen at all."

This is B.S. GM gave the UAW the management and care of the health care issue and more than $39 Billion Dollars to run it, about 1 1/2 years ago. Is GM still saying they are paying health benefits and charging that to the cost of a car? It is a lie and many other lies which helped cause their demise. Quit putting up the lies and put up the truth. GM wants to kill the UAW and North American Operations as they are costly. Buy a Buick Regal in China, they sell for $3500 US dollars. Not making money? B.S. Quit using that "FUZZY MATH" in the accounting practices. Remember "ENRON". GM has no cost of health care, the UAW has that baby. Thank you Rick Wagoner, thank you Fritz Henderson, I really wwant to thank you for running an American Icon of business into the toilet and flushing it. You guys are real intelligent. My stock, oh do you remember those people who own the company? The Stockholders? Thank you for screwing us in the process.

Wake up America, we will be owned by the Japs(Toyota) China (Walmart) and the Arabs (oil). Look before you buy. TRY to only buy American. We have sold our souls for a few dollars.

I worked for GM too, and I have owned nothing but GM vehicles except for one lapse of judgement. The only reason I bought a foreign car was because the dealer I always bought from was selling them at the time. That car was the biggest piece of junk I ever had and I could'nt wait to get rid of it. So as long as I live and they are in business I will buy GM, if not I will buy American. The rest of you Americans had better wake up and do the same! I'm sorry but I just can't get past Pearl Harbor and I will never buy Japanese cars.

Hey John of KY do you know what you`re talking about. First off the f-series witch includes 150 250 350 ... not just the f-150 and it WAS the best selling vehicle for something like 15 years (FYI last time a car was a best seller over a truck was in 1991) now it sits in fifth place behind civic, camry, corrola amd accord. Second of all just because you`re only making 3 dollars more than toyota workers that is not what you`re costing the company do you know you cost the company close to $70 an hour witch is a "little" more than those toyota employes you talk about and as for the quality of American cars being better than japanese you`re not completly right because they do have more power and are built stronger but at the same time they waste two times more gas and they don`t last half as long without problems while a toyota will go for 100K without needing any major work a ford for example or a dodge are notorious for transmission problems etc.....
