Eight years of Bush43 nearly destroyed the American and world economies, and he did it on purpose. He signed a $700B bailout bill, and he was loved. Obama signed a $900B stimulus bill, and the right-wingers are claiming "that" destroyed everything that Bush tried to do. Let's hope so.

Enough with the fascist BS comments. We had years of less government and free enterprise, and look where it got us. Policies that favored large corporations gave us inflated oil prices, which then raised the prices on food and necessities. So the middle class had to decide between gas to get to work and everything else. Meanwhile oil companies, courtesy of their buddy W, raked in record profits. Banks were offered lucrative government bailouts BEFORE McCain lost the election. Remember? Banks failed last September, Obama won in November and took office in January. Logic tells you he could not have been responsible for big government bailouts.

More of the same ol, same ol will not help us.

A political power grab. The statists deliberately caused our current problems and could just as easily end them.If the current fascist dictator would announce a policy of smaller government, less regulation, less government spending and a federal government that obeyed the constitution, the markets would soar and consumer confidence would be go up with it.His concerns are with power and the common people are easily manipulated by the state-run media.

I didnt vote for the idiot of 8yrs that destroyed the United states values and economy.

Wars for no reason, underfunded schools and every person for themself with a uneven playing field.

No chance to excel under the republican regime. Fight to save what you have and things will get better.

Pffft.. I'm ,not one to never say I'm sorry in fact, I'll be happy to be the first... BUT I can say this.. if we don't start blaming those who ARE responsible, this is damned to happen again.. and now even GET WORSE. PEOPLE NOW.. WHERE IS THE GOVERNMENT?? Come on.. look a little deeper our then our next door neighbor.. the people of this country have been convinced they are doing all the right things "America.. the land of the free.. home of the brave" we have been convinced.. but the fact remains.. we have been conditioned into giving it all up, including our children to death.. for what?? Freedom?? Are you kidding me?? we are the 6th free'est country in the world and now falling beyond Bankruptcy to whom you may ask? OH the answers are quite simple if you look into it. We are giving more of our money to the Military and to the Department of Health and Human Services than any other organization. What are they doing with YOUR money? Military men are coming home ashamed, and people are being FORCED into Mental institutions. Sure we are creating jobs for Social Workers and therapists, but we are also giving our lives away piece by piece. Look for yourself and see where the best JOB Security is.. You'll find it's either in the Medical Field or Social Work.. Your Children are NEXT to either DIE or be placed in the "system" Good luck avoiding it!

we stood by as our government invaded two countries on the premise taht they neede our democracy or they were hiding WMDs. We have become so selfish that we don't even give a damn about our own sons and daughters getting killed in those countries.

Now with the cost of two wars going into the trillions of $, money that could have been used to rebuild the economy at a time when it's needed the most, we wonder what went wrong.

We went wrong! we went from being the good guys to being the bad guys within a decade.

There might be a god after all

The best post of anyone, but no one will listen because one thing American cannot do is look inward and admit fault of their own, but one thing they are great at is point blame at everyone else but themselves.

So unfortunately Norman, even though you hit the nail on the head, no one is going to listen or understand because as an American: the new saying is "it is someone else's fault." Case in point: every lawsuit that wants to blame everyone else instead of people taking responsibility for their own actions.

----------------------------------------------------------------

We are at fault. The American Consumer. Plain and simple.

We took advantage of easy credit.

We took advantage of low cost products at Wal-Mart

We took advantage of stores on every corner

We took advantage of buying gallon jugs of mayonaise (and throw half away)

We got greedy and refused to play retail for anything

We bought a Toyota and than complained about the fact the US auto industry was going under

We elected the officials who started to social programs

We elected the officials who are trying to tell American Companies how to do business

I could go on and on...

Bottom line, we the American Public got lazy and got greedy. We need to all learn that phrase that I grew up with...

"sorry, we cant afford that!"

We love our democracy but support a communist country. No wonder our economy is in a shams. Our people are not making the money to spend because our jobs are given to foreign countries.

A second thought is that budgets are made with certain cost of living figured in. When the oil prices sky rocketed there was not enough money for the cost of living we were already obligated for. Because of that mortgages were not met and something had to give. Keep oil prices low and people will again begin to buy automobiles and have something extra to spend in the malls.

How dare you... if you're going to slam a certain company and/or product get it right it's called "American Living" as much $ as they must be spending on advertising that line (designed by Ralph Lauren) it seems like you must have heard or read that somewhere, but that wouldn't fit with your rant, would it? I have shopped at Penney's for years and I am also appalled at how many things are being made out of our country in nearly ALL retailers, not just JCP but when you mis-quote it just makes you sound uninformed.
