america produces the best vehicles for quality, performance and value, american cars are just a dependible as imports if not more.by the way did anybody forget about toyotas gas pedal sticking to the floor? thats plain old poor quality engineering

Highly opinionated and full of hasty generalizations. You should be ashamed.

I currently own 12 vehicles of which 7 are licensed and insured to DRIVE! All are American vehicles. And sadly two (newer ones) of them are assembled outside the USA, but still have great American content and of course the majority of the profit goes into the USA infrastructure.

Yes many forign cars are made well and last long, but American cars do too. I have had very little trouble with any of my vehicles and I run them pretty hard. I use a truck like a truck, and drive my old SS Chevelle like a muscle car is meant to be driven. I even hammer my 47 Ford Business Coupe now and then and it by the way has the original 47 flathead.

I have driven numerous forign vehicles and just enjoy the American V-8 sound and its ground pounding muscle. I just do not care for the feel or sound of high winding engines.

I agree with the comment about most forign vehicle buyers just want to get from point A to point B. Thys really do not "enjoy" the driving experience or "feel" the vehicle's "pulse" as they drive. But those that buy certain forign cars do like to drive them. I may even like to drive a Bugatti Vayron (sp?) if I could afford one.

In my view and experience American Muscle cars and trucks can't be beat.

Import nuts are those that think a car is strictly for getting from point A to point B, and who know nothing about the pleasure of driving. You are sad weenies, you always will be. Coolness is something you will never attain.

You've got your points about quality, or did before Toyota showed how far the mighty can fall, but by and large the imports are sadly lacking in style (a couple German and Italian manufacturers being notable exceptions). That said, I still drive a 1968 Ford Falcon, with nearly 400,000 miles on the original engine. And it looks cool, whereas you, in your weenie mobile, do not.

I have always prefered the Japanese to the american.

Why? Because they have always served me well.

My 1994 Toyota Camry has over 15000 miles and works just like new, while my friends crappy 1996 Buick has already been busted at 110k miles.

Always buy Japanese or German cars.

Its hard not to be loyal to the Japanese cars, they are good -no argument , like their motorcycles. Alot of this is arrogance from the auto makers who insist on doing research and development on the American public. Take the life of a model to repair problems that are recall worthy , and by and large just expect the American worker who works harder and longer for less dollars to just keep on buying their experiments. the other part of the problem is government. These self centered individuals who are and have been for many years serving their own pocket , who even now in arrogance refuse to do the will of the people took away tariffs that level the playing field between some kind of wage and slave labor along with financing the social services for the world because they think they can buy their way into heaven. We can't affored the automakers price and they cant price competively. Jobs are one thing , but jobs that pay the bills is completely another. the auto maker problems and the kind of business , what's left of it in the United States , and the way the consumer is treated along with trade policy is what has made us a third world country and socialist. the last reason is because many for to long have not expected value for their money, and instead lend themselves to stupid facades built by commercialism.

Loyal brand buyers didnt complain and when they did the automakers didnt listen , instead adopting the stance just ignor them they will go away, and they did ,forever. Dealing with American car makers is like playing 3 card molly on the streets of oakland , you can never get the sucker to play again but if we can get him to play once. A poor attitude. Well he wont buy our car again but the guy that got screwed by Chrysler will , and visa versa. And they actually think no ones caught on to this, guess were toyota's following came from you morons. Ford's crappy triton engine with the self stripping spark plug holes is one example, Dodge ram with their famouse break away paint and 40 k mile tranny is another , Chevy's 93 camaro a sports car that couldn't hold its tranny and shook at freeway speeds , finally harley davidson with a 2 to 3 year run of exploding cam bearings , followed by their 6 year run of exploding cam shoes with screeming eagle parts to facilitate a faster failure, and for the finale their 2007 run ,till when ever, of shifting piston wrist pins in their premium priced motorcycles . This is the fantastic lets do research on the public dime campaign. Were we do cyber space product reliability because its cost effective and tell the computer it runs great so the computer tells the engineers it runs great. Garbage in garbage out.

Welcome to the NEW WORLD ORDER , we have become the 1970's Taiwan , well the governments dream will come true, poor children playing with pebbles in the dust , just like Kenya , Of coarse when the powers that be told you of the great prosperity you didnt think they ment for us, did you ?
