I've owned Mustangs for 35yrs, why? they have never let me down ever. as long as you do your part & take care of them, they will do their part & provide years & years of fun driving and terrific reliability. There a reason GM & Chrysler have brought back their camaro & challenger. the Mustang will always be the best pony car ever.Like what a prior poster said, the 2005-2009 Mustangs are the best yet. as a proud owner of a 2009 Mustang, it is a pure joy to drive, excel quality, good mileage, good power and always gets a thumbs up by others.

Keep up the good work FORD.

Ford had a good idea when it made the FREESTAR, however it dropped it in 2007 after only 4 years. I've driven mostly Fords and this was the best one yet. Why did FORD drop a good idea? There is only one other car on the market with a five-star rating and that is the KIA Sedona mini-van of which I also own.

It doesn't matter what the foreign car makers do. No, I will never buy ANOTHER Ford. I buy American and now I own a part of GM.

As an American it would be Un American to support a Car company that Took Goverment funding and then filled bankrupt.

All after making the decision to not market an electric car they alreay had at twice the milage range by just changing its bateries. Dont take my word for it get that form the inventor of the EV-1 power train in the movie Who Killed the Electric Car. A once great country poised to offer the world the best in technology now snuffs it for false profits and forein oil dependance. As General Motor crushed it's technology other companies have bought and are building EV's based on a power plant envented by the one time GM power train inventor Alen Cocconi. As the new C.E.O. of GM takes over he offers nothing of an appology to the American Youth. Halting the education of our youth by offering antiquated techlogogy in internal combustion engines when they could have been handed down a 20 year old electric cars now crush. Why is this important, you ask. Alan Cocconi The inventor of the Ev-1 Power train and now the powor train of 1000 + EV's world wide invented an Electic UAV for our Government Defence that flies indefinatly and olny needs to come down in bad weather. Do you want the youth in your society learning about electronics??? Don't you want a strong military? Don't worry other countries do?

Yes buy GM suppport and Exec. that flies to Washington to get $ while a Marine is dying fighting to save his freedom in the same day. Support GM an keep advanced technology out of your garage and away form your children. Support the new C.E.O. who's proud of the gas guzling S.U.V.'s Tahoe, Suberban, Support our dependance on oil from the Middle East.

Who the hell needs Terrorist when you have General Motors.

I have owned many cars in the past 40 years, all but one was US made, and the worst was an 87 Nissan Pathfinder that rusted thru the floor in 5 years. The best I've owned have been Ford Mustangs starting with a 67 GT. Just like a live pony I had as a kid my Ford "ponies" all love to run, look good doing so and are a blast to ride (and drive).

And like my live pony they never failed me as long as I took good care of them. Those of you who've never owned one are really missing out on a great driving experience. The new ones from 2005 on are the best Mustangs ever made - even better than their predecessors - and that's a tough bench mark to beat!

Most of the automotive writers malign the Mustang for whatever (bogus) reasons but it remains faithful to its riders - and all it wants is good feed, a clean coat and a good run now and then. There are a lot of cars out there but you won't find one that is as much fun to own and drive as a Mustang. If I had a big enough barn I'd have a whole herd of them!

I've owned domestic (Pontiac, Chrysler, Ford) and foreign (Nissan, Volkswagen, Lexus) vehicles. My current vehicle, a 1999 Lexus RX300, hasn't been in the shop once in the 9 years I've owned it. I take it in for regular servicing and that's it. I owned my Pontiac for 11 years - but those were expensive years. It was a 1990 Bonneville SSE - a nice car. But it had troubles with the sunroof leaking, electronics failing, power windows not working, etc. However, the engine was great! And it was a comfortable car to drive.

My old Ford F150 was a huge cost sink. I didn't have a single month that was trouble free. It was a real work horse, but too prone to problems.

I replace the Ford with a 1999 Dodge Dakota 4x4. It, too, has had a number of failures: lots of leaks, issues with the tranny, a/c that won't work, etc. I still have it but I'm really wanting to replace it. It's a good truck and will go where I need it to go, but it's just so expensive to keep running.

Until American vehicles are as trouble-free as Japanese vehicles, I will stick to Lexus/Toyota in the future. I don't want to risk my money on vehicles that won't last.

I have driven Fords for the last 30+ years because they are good quality, handling, riding, and stylish vehicles. the foreign brands I have owned are sub-par and severeky overrated. As an example m Ford Escort was superior in almost every aspect compared to the Honda Civic I now own. I can't wait to find another job so I can buy a new, quality vehicle like a Ford. The media has falsely protrayed the quality of many of the foreign brands. Buy a Ford.

K K of CA 11:35AM July 22, 2009

I agree. I have had American made cars. Ford Wind star, Dodge Spirit all have had major repairs within 4- 6 years of owning them. I also have a 1999 Honda Accord and for 10 years now I have not had any problems yet.

I hate to say it, but the next vehicle I buy is a Toyota or another Honda. I will pay extra for a vehicle that is built well and last me many years, verses a vehicle that I get huge discount/rebates but will need majors repairs down the road.

enough said.
