8 Industries That Will Sit Out a Recovery

It seems that 'Bob of CO' has it right. Must be educating himself outside of our institutions that have been dumbing down our children, even through higher education, for decades. One must look outside the normal educational parameters to find the real truth of why what has happened to the United States of America is right on track to the plan of those in power. Its not about money,......Its about power!!!! Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are prime examples of the continuous power grab by government, regardless of party lines. History, if taught, would be a gleaming example of why this country was needed. ARE WE HEADED THERE AGAIN?

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

Thomas Jefferson

As to the comment left earlier by big boy pants, the one who says we all whine.....I love how people that have no idea what they are talking about invoke our founding fathers. What would actually upset our F.F. is the facts that 1. we have a meager two party system with the only difference being retoric, though the results are always the same. 2. The fact that this capitalistic system you love so much would make our F.F. heads roll. Is shipping jobs over seas what they envisioned? Is the massive debt, the Federal Reserve, an elite aristocracy, you know, the one percent that owns 95 percent of the wealth, a never ending war that does nothing but feed the industrial military complex and sacrifice our sons and daughters for corporate positioning, how about credit cards, homeless veterans? It's hard to pull yourself up by boot straps when you can't afford the boots. I feel sorry for you, it seems you have archaic ideas that really don't fit in a complex world. One more thing, all those things like eight hour work days, retirement, lunches, health insurance offered by companies wouldn't be here if it weren't for labor unions and Those pesky,"Socialist", ideals! Your a fool if you think a company respects and apreciates it's workers so much that it would treat them as though they were people, left to it's own devices a company would still be paying Americans a dollar an hour and filling it's factory floors with six year olds.....oh wait, they do in China, Taiwan, India etc..........I dare you to take a tour in a factory in one of those countries or better yet, a few miles from your home you could tour the ,"Hood". Go tell them to pull themselves up by thier boot straps and to stop whining. Detroit air fare is very cheap. "I hope we will crush in it's birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength and bid defiance to the laws of our country." Thomas Jefferson.

One reason things are the way they are right now is that the corporate fat cats keep outsourcing all of our jobs. They like to save money on labor because folks over seas can work for alot less, but guess what? After they've sent all of the good jobs overseas no one has any money for 100 dollar shoes or 60000 cars. Surprise, surprise! Shoulda seen this day coming, but the CEOs were too busy counting the money. Now they can sit there in their ivory towers and wait for the economy to pick up. If it ever does. If not, maybe all of the people you gave away all our jobs to will buy your overpriced stuff. Yeah, right!

I swear.

What happened to the American Dream?

All I hear these days is whiney whoe-is-me crap from people! Pull up your big boy, or girl, pants and get off your butts and stop asking for hand outs. This Country has always fixed itself by the people and for the people.

AND Captialism is the EXACT reason people litterally DIE trying to come to our country. It's the belief that there's hope in our country, it's the belief that there's hope of a country where the Government protects us but steps out of our Business world unless it needs to police people breaking the law.

Big business is in EVERYTHING we do as a Country. For example: DO YOU HAVE A RETIREMENT?!?..guess where your "retirement" is being funded? 401K? 403B?...yeah that would be CAPTIALISM and the STOCKs also known as BIG BUSINESS!...you

STOP WHINING!!! and put on your big boy pants, or big girl pants and take care of yourself. Our Founding Fathers' would be so embarassed....gesh.

ANNOYED with the complaining already! of OR 5:39PM November 08, 2009

It is amazing how I remember in the runaway "good" times that the Govt workers were slugs and had lousy pay--if you had anything on the ball go corporate for the big bucks......

Well that has had its effect and now the "Stars" of big business are stealing from all of us---Goldmanites and JPMorgan types now are in control of the government and are sending all the money to their wealthy elite supporters...

I hate the way things are going but it does help me to see that I have to wait out the economy when trying to grow my small business. I sell silk flowers for weddings. People are not getting married either. So I am tring to get other jobs like decor for events and maybe even flowers for prom. The good thing is there is always tomorrow. All business owners big and small should think outside the box.

It's amazing how no one talks about the top heaviness of our government ....from politicians having the best healthcare and retirement options, while the small business owner has none he/she pays for everyone else's pensions and healthcare, not only for themselves but their employees "if they can" but also for anyone in the public service sectors, " the teachers, the police, the firemen, the city, county, township, state, federal government, govt agencies, like Osha, Dea, Cia, Fbi, treasury , and for army bases, navy, air force, all these people who work at these places have excellent healthcare and great pensions,I'm sure you get the picture.

In the meantime the citizens paying their taxes which pay for all these benefits also have to pay for people that don't contribute to the welfare of this country and have to take up the slack for people who take advantage of the system ....from paying more for hospital care because of someone not having money or cannot afford to pay for their own care.....I would'nt mind paying for someone (it's called social justice) as long as they don't mind paying for me, when I need the care also ( it's called fairness),

I'm sure there's waste of tax payer funds..we need to trim and trim big....starting with fraud ....from medicare fraud to social security fraud to military fraud .....and fraud by and for politicians ....there should be heavy penalties for people who abuse the public trust.....and commit fraud. Maybe there should be a course "before" people who are hired by a public entity, that there's a minimum JAIL sentece for abusing the public trust."5 yrs or more of hard labor"!!!!!

Also pensions for politicians must be trimmed....if you're below 55 and no longer in public service there should not be a pension for you.....the reason you go into public service is exactly for that reason "public service" not for a pension, I see someone becoming a mayor for 4 yrs at the age of forty and getting a pension for life ....that municipality should not be supporting someone who is no longer contributing to that municipality's welfare.

It also crazy when these politicians create more jobs by increasing government jobs....which means taxpayers have to pay for their SALARY, their HEALTHCARE, their PENSION....while taxpayers have to pay for their own, and even worse have none...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also taxes on small business is stiffling, it chocking the heart of small bussiness, why would someone want to expand their bussiness if they have to share their profits at an exponetial increase of taxes, licenses, fees, and the many other expenses that come with an expanding bussiness, from worker's comp, to unemployment insurance to the use tax, to industry licenses, permits, contract and accounting costs, it's amazing what comes out of one dollar before someone has something left for themselves.

capitalism works, but when the incentive is gone, the burden becomes even greater and that will lead to a demise

It seems like our government has been on a suicide mission. We brought in torrents of immigrants and now must pay to support them in the economic downturn. We need immigrants with high skill levels, but we're paying the price of the open door policies of the past. It's hard to believe that importing poverty and exporting jobs will lead the economy anywhere but down.
