Where a buyer acquires shares in the Target, the accrued liabilities of the Target remain in those shares, hence extensive warranties and disclosures are sought by the buyer to ensure as far as possible the legal position of the buyer.

While asking most of HP to take a 5% pay cut in these tough economic times, CEO Mark Hurd showed himself a true leader by voluntarily taking a 20% pay cut. What a great leader! Oh, but since that's just to his base salary, given all his other compensation from the company, that "20%" pay cut is actually less than a single percent. What a great liar!

The question remains - are they worth it - probably not because if there is that much money to be had then the corporation would be wiser if the money was used to ride out bumps in the economic climate. This stupidity over exec pay will stop eventually.

I've worked for HP for over a decade and this company has been good to me up until now. And I find it shameful that all HP employee salaries were cut 5%; raises are non-existent; people continue to be let go so there is more work to go around with less people to do it; and morale has tanked; - meanwhile execs get double and triple digit bonuses.

This once "great to work for" company and culture has been decimated by "outsider" top mgmt who have obviously let greed replace any caring about employees. We are still very profitable and could have absorbed the downturn without taking from employees; oh, but then exec bonuses might have been a few million less. Too bad for them. It is sickening and just wrong. And there appears to be nothing one can do about it. Shareholders (I am also one) should revolt. Employees can't since we so desperately need to keep jobs right now.

Bonuses -- that's where these guys make their real $$$. Let's track their bonuses, too, for the full picture.

Maybe Phil Jackson should be sent over to run GM for a change.
