10 Retailers Gaining Strength From the Recession

Back to blog

Since the start of this recession nearly 2 years ago, more and more middle-class folks have fallen into the "poor" category!

When most of the 'wealth' (96%) of this country is concentrated in the upper 1% of the people, then their is bound to be problems!! As evident by the current crisis!! 40 years of R.Reagans policies of "trickle down" haven't done anything for the USA economy, except create larger and large deficits; and, more people collecting welfare!!

Return the country to a working mans country, and let us prosper like in the 1950's and 1960's!!

Our Government is hired and fully controlled by Large Corporations, not US Citizens anymore. This is why it cares less about anyone who's small anymore and future of small businesses. They are bureaucrats selling themselves during lobbying process and waiting to give back to their patrons. Overseas investors from Asia control those Large Corporations with their shares in them. This is why the overall tendency is "let's do business by selling not just cheap, but selling very cheap". Let kill the small businesses think "large corporate uncontrolled animals". Since this days large corporations are no longer subject to anti-trust laws, they are fully allowed and equipped with "deep sale tools" to do the "holocaust" to the small businesses in the USA. Large corporation are no longer even under control by their own boards of directors, since everyone in any large company thinks how to save his ass and show good results in such a seek climate created by the same large corporations. It's like mass instinction where dinosaurs want to eat and ate more then they were allowed. In such case they even ate the roots of small trees, thus eliminating their own future food. Why nobody is stopping the "large animals", because they are still very strong and they do not listen to their brains(anti-trust activists and small business growth advocates). They only listen to themselves: "we need more food, let's eat the small animals(businesses), let's destroy their food. Let roll next big sale, let drop prices, maybe this will create new jobs in China:)"

Before we re-enact antitrust laws and help the large corporations to realize that they need to stop helping our Bureaucratic Government in destroying themselves, their helpers - small businesses and this great country, no economy is going to move up.

Economy can be moved up on

Have you been sitting on Mars playing with your thumB

It is clear to me that the above writers seem to forget where we are coming from.

Firstly, the last eight years we have seen Capitalism gone wild.

I have worked in the health care system where I have seen coverage been denied while the ceo was been paid two hundred million per year.

In the same company millions was paid to an advisor to influence another company to be bought by the company to whom I was employed.

Do you also remember that helicopter loads of cash was sent to Iraq with no accounting as to what has become of that cash?

Do you also understand what that does to the value of our dollar when that cash comes back to the United States to be redeemed?

In your esteemed opinion what could the present government do differently?

It isn't just the big companies that are going bust---it is America itself, and the public has lost a LOT of faith in the US Government---especially the seniors who depend on their little SS checks each month that are getting smaller and smaller each month. The selling-out of American industry to foreign powers is disturbing. Even a Canadian bank is raping the east coast of the US---'merging' with small bank chains and closing up most of the branches, selling off mortgages to other 'financial institutions' that go bump in the night. Goodbye Good Ol' USA---hello China, and other foreign countries---soon to be our total landlords.

First of all, learn how to spell Democrat. Secondly, stip away the hype, and look closely at what his own party was saying before he won the nomination, and you see a man who is inept, is surrounded by advisors that we used to refer to as "Posers" who enjoy the gig, but haven't got a clue how to accomplish anything, and you find an administration who thought everyone would greet them with smiles and do their bidding because they said so. Well welcome to the Presidency Mr. President. The only one bright spot in your entire administration has been Hillary Clinton, and the job she is doing as Secretary of State. And this coming from someone who absolutely abhores her. I have to admit she has shown herself to be much more capable than the photo op paper doll we have now. No, I didn't vote for you Mr President, and am damn glad nobody can pin this one on me.... My only reason for watching now is to see just how long it will take for your hair to turn gray.

Where do you get off saying Obama is picking up the pieces? Get off the party line mentality/or the race card, and look deeper into the details at what he has done. Distorted numbers on how the economy is moving in the right direction by the 650,00 jobs he created/saved. WRONG, look at the details. Anyway, I voted for him based on all the pre-election hype, and as it turned out that is just what it was-hype. I am sorry I had any think to do with his election. He is adding very little substance to our country, and I find it extremely difficut to support him and his policies and the direction he is taking our country, and as each day goes by he seems to be paying off all those campaign promises without regard for the people. We seem to be leaning more and more to a socialistic style of of goverment. It is those of us in the middle class that will bear the burden of this mess. The health care mess and it is a mess needs fixed, but why is it necessary to 'ram' it through the congress? Insted of trying to redo the hole thing, how about identifying the top one or two big issues and and fixing them first. I hear a alot about medicare and the issues. That being the case fix it!! I dont work for an insurance company, but the some of the coverage issues I hear about, need to be addressed and fixed. Work out a plan to make the insurance companies competitive, let us go across state lines to get a better deal.

It is not necessary to fix the whole health care system at once! How do you expect any one to understand a 2000 page bill!!!! Even our elected members in congress do not understand all.

Let your voice be heard write, call, fax but communicate with your representatives and let them know how you feel! Voice your opinion before it is too late. WE need to take back our country, and get people in office that have at least half an ounce of commen sense. Our forefathers must be turing over in their graves!

Bill Clinton open the door to my husband and I to buy our first house. We were able to take money out of our IRA's for the down payment. If you used what tools Clinton gave us responibly it worked. Those who were greedy and gave loans to those that could not afford and those who took loans that they knew they could not afford, is what we now know that drove the housing market up.

Bush did nothing. When nothing is done, then everything falls apart. How many vacations did we see him take. Plenty.

Obama is picking up the pieces the best he can. If us democrates would just stick together, this would help the president do his job. I trully believe that Obama is for the people. Let's support him.

Remember the days that we supported our president no matter what party. Let's pull together as a county.

Everyone Blames Mr.Bush but look into who unlock the Derivitives in this Country. Bill Clinton open the Flood Gates to this Horror. Even the Idiot in charge now turned them over but he support 90% of Mr. Bush ideas. Bush was a Great Pres.
