Let's try closing the borders once and for all then deporting all the illegal aliens for starters. That should free up a few million jobs for legal residents and decrease the flow of capital out of the U.S.

Globalization is a failed experiment! Let the compnaies feel the pinch of the transformation. They can afford to do this, not average Joe American.

Yes, I have been schooled properly, by him as well as Axel Rose of Guns and Roses, as the descriptions are SO accurate. Why don't you, James Asher, run for office? We could get some things done!

Warhorse from tennessee is so right! Impose a 150% Import duty on everything that US imports and give every US company a 1 year timeframe to bring back all its overseas sourced work... and while there will be mayhem immediately, wait a couple of years and you will see every single job back in US....... all is well that ends well. Only companies will complain, so waht!?

In the 1950’s this country had plenty of good paying jobs and we were a debt free nation. But, our politicians in both parties have completely sold us out, since that time. All these stupid trade agreements like WTO, NAFTA, and GAT have enabled corporations to seek cheap labor overseas, just that simple. They can profit more by paying slave wages than by paying a respectable wage to Americans here at home. Also, millions of jobs are being taken up by illegal immigrants.

Wake up America, why do we just keep voting in the same old politicians that have sold us out to corporate crook. They are making fools of us but we are slow to learn. It is the hierarchy in both major party that have done a job on us.

Donald Trump, told it like it is…..he said that we should levy import taxes on Chinese and all foreign goods. But immediately the free trade advocates start screaming that protectionism would start a trade war. Trump says so what, we would have been better off if we had never traded with any country over the past twenty five years as we have been running a humongous trade deficit in the billions every year.

Furthermore, who made us the protector of the whole world? Of course the defense contractors and producers of war machinery twist the arms of legislators so they will sign off on just one more conflict without any declaration of war as required by our Constitution.

Finally, they even did away with the military draft. They, being the members of Congress so they won’t have skin in the game in terms of injuries and blood of their own relatives. Why not let the poor that can not find jobs join the military and serve in our mercenary armed forces. That also makes it easier for a politician to sign off to go to war when they can be assured that their own won’t be shot at.

When we deviate so far from our original Constitution and continually fight in un-declared wars all over the world how can we not expect to be on the road to bankruptcy? Remember what happened to the once great British Empire!!!!

I think that all this is a load of crock. Everybit of it. Nothing is getting cheaper. Nothing is going down to where we can afford what we need and pay out bills at the same time. People are working two jobs and they have family that they need to spend time with. The president isnt doing any better. The president is basically ending everything. And the oil spill is something even bigger. i think that the president needs to be replaced with some one that actually gives a crap.

Cut the military budget, close overseas bases and build international relations on trade rather than war. I know, I know -- all those evil dictators and terrorists out there -- & 9 out of 10 times they were former allies in "joint ventures" for Corporate profits. Which reminds me -- end the Corporate stranglehold on government and every other facet of American life and return the nation to a Republic based on the Constitution.

It is interesting to this person that Our Federal Goverment cannot or will not shut down and secure our borders, but there are cities here in the USA that have sancturary cities? (i.e. San Francisco) At the same time they are sueing the state of Arizona for try to stop non - citizens from using and abusing our free services?

Explain that Mr. Obama and your transparent Government?

RK SCHMOE of WA 8:32AM July 22, 2010

You know, if the government (at all levels) would reduce its size, reduce entitlements, and just do those things the government is meant to do we the citizens wouldnt need to to keep feeding is insatiable appetite for more money. All this doom and gloom stuff these types of articles talk about would not come to be if people were allowed to keep more of what they earn.
